Why allow reforge if you're just going to nerf the perks?
Is it the gamers fault that Bungievision has incompetent pvp designers who make absolute trash perks that no one wants? No one will seriously pick Icarus over anything else! If you allowed it so that players can pray to RNGESUS for the good perks we actually want, from reforge, then WHY THE -blam!- ARE YOU NERFING THEM?
-blam!- you Jon! Give me back my thousands of weapon parts, motes of light, and glimmer that were all going to be wasted when you nerf literally every good perk I had on all my weapons! Seriously man, -blam!- you!

To take weapon parts from the game. Most folk don't know this.. But vendors are ment to take stuff out of the game- as much as put it back.

1 ReplyBecause they didn't realize that people could reroll some weapons to THKO and turn Shotguns into medium range weapons. That wasn't the intent of this feature.

Then you have all these guides online to help you find good rolls. Lets be honest, majority of the players are rolling for something that will give them a edge in pvp. Nobody really cares for pve because of raid guns being top tier already for pve content. Now you have this meta where you got these insane long range shotguns that make fusion rifles worthless. Even with the shot package and rangefinder nerf, those shotguns are still gonna be better than anything else. If we still had final round rerollable. Everybody and their grandma would have rolled for it. The crucible state would be even worse if everyone had that. People are just gonna roll hcs for litc, finsl round, smallbore/braced frame, get a sniper with hidden hand so they can headshot even though they shot left of a guys head, get a high impact high base range shotgun and turn it into a 10yard ohko weapon. A rl with high base velicity and blast radius and turn it into a g&h killing machine. A pulse rifle like hopscotch and max out the stability so its a easy two headshot burst kill. This wont change after the taken king. There will new pvp optimal choices and again everybody and their grandma will roll for it. If bungie is smart, certain guns of certain foundries can get certain rolls so its not easy to pick one over the other like it is with hopscotch vs spare change.

6 RepliesThe idea behind reforge was that you can re roll your gun to get the perks you want. That works out great except with guns that have a really really low single stat; enter shotguns and effective range. Shotguns have low range and due to the many perks that increase range you can double the base range on them as is. Look at pulse rifles where you can get a marginal increase compared to it's base and all these range stats are okay. Due to our own abuse of the system it needs to be rebalanced in order to make guns other then shotties get used.

Just a list of perks that are near useless. [spoiler]Icarus, Mulligan, Rodeo, Hot Swap, Replenish, Grave Robber, Cluster Bomb, Persistence, Take a Knee, Unflinching, Vacuum, and since it's funny, Shank Burn.[/spoiler] Please tell me if I missed anything.

9 RepliesIt's the way people were using certain perk for example people would empty all of their ammo apart from the last bullet in the snipers mag just so they could instant kill someone

It's sort of how Dell gets you to think you're customizing your own PC when really you're just picking from what the offer. We're allowed to reforge so we feel like we are customizing our weapons. They nerf perks because a lot of this player base consists of cry baby pussies who suffer rage issues when playing PvP.
