Reconsider the Black Hammer nerf
The notes given to us about the nerf of the Black Hammer renders the gun useless. The perk was reasonable because you had to get three precision hits in a row. The small reserve meant you had to make your shots count and if you were a skilled marksmen then your reward was a refilled magazine. The change will effectively break that weapon of its usefulness. Once the nerf hits BH, no one will use it; people will move onto other snipers. I'm asking that you please reconsider the nerf for this gun.

The weapon is unbalanced and as a result is the most used Sniper Rifle in PvE. The update won't kill it by any means as you still don't have to reload and you have higher reserve ammo. It'll still be the highest damage per second Sniper Rifle. Anyone that says they won't use it anymore is totally overreacting. Why would you not use a weapon that has high Impact, Range, a good ammo pool, and doesn't have to be reloaded? Heaven forbid you have to use a Special Ammo Synthesis! This change needed to happen to save the Sniper Rifle class.

It's going to get nerfed, but the current planned nerf is going to make it near enough useless, my idea would be that when the perk triggers, instead of taking all the ammo out of the reserve, it takes 1 shot out of reserve but refills the entire magazine, that way you don't have unlimited ammo, but the weapon isn't made completely useless as it rewards accuracy with more ammo than any other sniper

Well, with the TTK all current legendary's will eventually become obsolete anyway. Actually, that should make the nerd make even less sense.

Agreed I have a friend who plays Crota every week on both difficulties just so he can get black hammer and he's pretty much giving up on Crota because he thinks this will defeat the purpose of the sniper. The whole point of it was for the continuous precision shots=unlimited ammo. Icebreaker nerf is dumb too we already wait long enough for more shots and is extending that really going to keep people from camping w/ it? Ex. I'm still going to camp on Valus Ta'auruc w/ it even if I have to sit there twice as long, so what's the point of extending the time, huh Bungie?

1 ReplyThey would just make the reserve incredibly small like 3 or 4 mags so that it really makes the perk the highlight of the gun and necessary to use to have it work effectively

9 RepliesActually that's not true. It still going to have the best DPS of any sniper since you don't have to reload. It has the highest impact and good stability. Ice breaker on the other hand, will be completely useless.

Black hammer should be nerfed but white nail should be 'Rapidly landing three precision shots refills the magazine with a chance to take ammo from reserve'!
