Exotics just aren't "exotics" anymore
Gally, Icebreaker and Black hammer are, in my opinion the only true Exotics left in the game. Yes I realize BH is legendary.
But the coming patch will be changing all that.
So cheers to the last month we will have with exotics. And cheers to decision that will inevitably turn gamers away from this game!

The farce of the "shiny new weapons" is obvious...what about under the hood? That's all that matters...performance. Remember when weapons in this game were sought after? Remember when players grinded super hard to get the best weapon? It's gone. That was a key cog in Destiny that people liked a lot despite it's other failures, but now taking that cog out, and it's going to negatively affect the game. That part of the game will be gone, but Bungie will still want you to grind. "It's not worth it" becomes a common theme, and people stop playing.

2 RepliesTrue. Performance wise, exotics weapons are no different then legendary weapons. This needs to be corrected. There should be more separation between exotic and legendary weapons. Exotic should be lots stronger

This game is a joke it's all about thorn and last word. If bungie really cares what we think and want things would have changed a long time ago. The biggest joke of all is the teleport jump with a shotgun. Really you can disappear while being shot are you f...ing kidding me. This needs to be removed from the game along with fixing the balance of weapon damage in PvP..

Unfortunately due to Bungie linking PvP and PvE exotics never really lived up to their full potential, IMO.

No Land Beyond is exotic. I know because it says "exotic" and there's a yellow box behind it. Bump if you passed the 3rd grade.

6 Replies"Exotic" dosn't mean something's stronger than everything, "Exotic" means something's unique and rare, which is what all exotics are and still wil be compared to other guns.

Seriously, why should I waste an "exotic" slot for a weapon that is maybe 5% better than any random Legendary? Before the game released, all the promo material made Exotics sound like amazing, super-unique, [i]overpowered[/i] weapons. Turns out that was mostly a load of crap. Unfortunately, as long as Crucible and Story content need to exist side-by-side, I [i]kinda[/i] understand the corner Bungie's backed into.

Why can't they make new guns at least as good as VOG and CROTA ones? House of wolves guns were shit and that's why you don't see us using them. Only one I half way like is my solar dreg. I'd still rather use VOC in most situations. The guns aren't what makes the game. It's the raids and content. Trying to make it seem like the problems are because of weapons is a distraction from bungies issues of not giving us enough to do.

Have you used... Thorn, tlw, p&t, fourth horseman, necrocasm, bad juju, red death, multi tool, dragons breath, no land beyond, pocket infinity, plan c, thunderlord. These are all weapons that do things that no other guns do. Exotics are weapons that do just that. Fourth horseman is debatable due to the dry rot. I agree and am fine with all nerfs except ice breaker. Camping at the back was their reason? Adding 3 seconds is unneeded, 1 second would be okay, but 3?
