i have been brainstorming this idea for a while. I think it would be cool for Bungie to add a new class of heavy weapons, the heavy sniper rifle. This would provide a precision alternative for heavy weapons. They would do large damage per shot, and massive precision damage per shot. They would be characterized by high impact and extremely long range, but would have a low rate of fire, low stability, and low magazine sizes. I was also thinking of having them over-penetrate targets by default, but that's just me speculating. I want to hear some community input on this to see if this is actually a good idea or if this is just wishful thinking. What do you think? Would heavy snipers be a benefit to destiny?

A heavy sniper is a little too repetitive. Something like a beam cannon would feel a bit more unique as something to fill its place.

Elemental burn boss fights would become far too easy. A great idea, but they'd be far too powerful I think.

According to some who saw the game in development say sniper rifles were planned to be heavy weapons, and hand cannons were special weapons.

Low ROF and low stability haven't kept people from turning guns into OP killing machines. How would the rifles be balanced?
