Honestly after I read the 2.0 patch notes the only thing that angered me was the ice breaker nerf and the hand cannon nerfs. If you're a hand cannon user you'll know the nwrf on ranged accuracy for HC's is B.S. or at least nerf thorns range (I have a thorn so I know and agree it's OP), Last Word's range is fine for what it's used for except insane ADS accuracy. Hawkmoon feels like a precision weapon and feels just right as is... Precision is what makes HCs powerful and the reason Bungie is needing this is because scout rifles don't have enough impact to compete, they even feel like semi auto auto rifles at some points... I just want everyone's opinion on Hand Cannon as of now (yes we all know thorn is OP) but the others feel just right the way they are. If anything Bungie should make hand cannon easier to aim while under fire (yes they tried that in the last patch but the flinch by red death and other pulse rifles makes it impossible to aim so you end up dead anyway) That was a long rant, sorry guys, I just want everyone's opinion, mostly that of other avid HC users

  • Yeah HC are like long range shotguns. Easier to handle than a scout or Sniper Rifle and you dont have to manage the sensitivity or casing that scout and Sniper scope has ADS.

    Tlw needed a fix not a nerf, the glitch was the only complaint I had. Thorn...we saw this comming. Hawkmoon, it was fine, even with the potential one-shot. It was luck based, and not something to count on. They did need slight fixs however, yet they are going overboard. Before someone says I use these guns...no, I use nlb. I use fatebringer in pve though, lol.

  • The ADS nerf on last word should only apply in pvp, not pve. Also the audacity of them showing the "3 coffins" video implies a hip fire one shot range of 30 which will never happen. They are trolling.

  • From the looks of the changes that they want to put I think that it's good that they are making sure that the HC stays in the range it should work well in (close to med). Not sure how far they will reduce the mag for each HC but I don't like that they should have anything less than four or five rounds per mage (seems reasonable enough to take out two guardians before reloading) and that its ADS zoom won't apply much since it does make it harder to aim for targets that are closer. Oh and TLW range is not fine because there is a bug that is not matching its performance range with state range so I am glad they will fix it since I see that its strengths should rely on quick hip fire kills than ADS. As for Hawkmoon I don't mind it being able to one shot kill at close range with a head shot since it is within a perk that relies on luck but anything farther seems unreasonable to me.

    I understand the range nerf, but the stability and mag capacity nerfs are stupid. I don't use hand cannons in PvP very often so I'm worried these nerfs will make the PvE experience less enjoyable as a result. I understand everything about Thorn's nerfs but I don't believe Hawkmoon and The Last Word deserve the same divine punishment, because unlike Thorn they require some actual skill instead of spamming then leaving "Mark of the Devourer" to do the rest.

    • Nerfing black hammer is also a joke. It takes skill at least to land 3 precision quickly. There is no skill in waiting 5 seconds or more for another round.

      • Handcannons suck tbh. They are too overused and require too little effort to kill. Scouts are much more balanced cause they're only as good as their wielders.
