Latin phrase, means thus: "after this, therefore because of this" This is an example of logical fallacy; a correct observation is made regarding prior/current events, but the conclusion is incorrect. Example: Bungie observes that the Exotic rocket launcher [b]Gjallarhorn[/b] is used to discriminate in LFG. (if you have gjallarhorn it better be maxed out, if you don't have it you're out of luck) This observation is correct. The fallacy lies in Bungie's conclusion: Bungie will nerf the Gjallarhorn because this will keep it from becoming a sort of... "raid ticket." However if the Gjallarhorn is nerfed, more fireteam members will need it per fireteam, and it will become an even greater "raid ticket" and even LESS people will be matchmade through LFG. Also, nerfing the Gjallarhorn will affect its use in LFG/NONLFG activities alike: Raids, Prison of Elders, Story Missions, Crucible, Iron Banner, Strikes, Patrol, Weekly Heroic and Weekly Nightfall. This nerf will affect the Gjallarhorn across the board, in both PVP and PVE. I should mention that I do not have a Gjallarhorn, and I [u]still[/u] beleive it should not be nerfed. If Bungie wants to combat LFG discrimination and "raid tickets" (Gjallarhorn, Last Word/Thorn, Icebreaker,) the best solution is to implement Optional In-game Matchmaking. This will increase overall raid participation and will leave rare high power exotics (like those listed prior) alone. Also, Optional In-game Matchmaking has been suggested, if not demanded, by the Destiny Fan community for months, and by removing the nerfs and adding Optional In-game Matchmaking, Bungie will be killing two birds with one stone. (Lfg discrimination being bird # one, and showing the community Bungie listens to their feedback being bird # two.) The Gjallarhorn, Last Word, Thorn and Icebreaker are all getting nerfed and I only have TLW. Except for the Thorn however, my opinion is that the GJhorn, TLW and Icebreaker nerfs should be redacted and a different solution to the problem of LFG discrimination should be implemented. Of course, comment with your own solution; I am open to ideas (and hopefully Bungie is too).
