May have just found a new glitch..
So I was roaming around the cosmodrome today doing some patrol and I wandered into the skywatch just after some guardians beat the wolves.
Since I wasn't apart of it, I diddent get the ether key, so I just went on and completed my mission.
Then, as I was leaving I stopped and opened a silver chest and got 2 blue engrams, heavy ammo synthesis, and some spin metal....like what you get out of an ether chest...anyone else have this happen?
Edit: Thanks for the feedback. Was curious just because the exact amount of things was similar to how the old ether chests were, plus I have yet to get a bunch of good things out of the random chests.
Edit 2: I understand that chests can give good stuff though the chances are small. The reason for the post was that it just so happened to sync yup with an ether chest drop. Was odd..

3 RepliesIt's not a bug. Every chest you open has a chance to be a good chest to be something good like what you just mentioned. The chances are relatively small though

6 RepliesI can confirm that the patrol chests have a chance to be what I call either common, rare, or legendary. Common - Glimmer, a chance at one or two green items/engrams, as well as a chance at a ship, and materials. Rare - More glimmer, one or two blue engrams, increased material gain, and ammo synths of some kind. Sometimes motes or strange coins as well. Legendary - Even more glimmer, blue engrams (sometimes purple), materials, ammo, and sometimes one or two ascendant materials. I can't confirm the legendary entirely, it could be a rare with epic drops, but I feel it deserves a category as it is very rare. I've only gotten two or three.

It happened way before house of wolves was even released the first it happened to me was back in November I've even had a legendary engram from a few before

26 Replies~sighs~ independence day noobs... bet you didnt get queens rep did ya? this was a normal chest. they have a chance of being a "good" chest where you get 10+ mats + blues and sometimes a purple and ammo synths.

Its not a glitch. Every once in a while in patrol you find a chest that has those rewards. It's not to uncommon if your chest farming

Any chest can randomly have better than average loot. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. I've even got legendary engrams instead of blues on occasion.
