You know how when you load up Patrol for the very first time on any of the planets, Dinklebot says "Guardians have been planting beacons here to connect back to the Tower. We find them, we can help the city. I'm already detecting a few." Well what if from TTK going forward instead of starting off with a Patrol icon on the map, its actually a Quest, you load it up and then your mission is to go plant these beacons. For Vanilla Destiny it makes sense for beacons to already be on all the planets because Guardians have been there before you. But now with the Dreadnaught you would be the first Guardian to set foot inside. Im thinking you load up the Quest and then it points you to the different locations where a beacon needs to be set up in the starting spawn point of the Dreadnaught, lets call it "Cargo Hold". While planting the beacons there could be enemies actually patrolling the area and there could be some kind of boss fight to end the Quest. Completing the quest then unlocks Patrol. Once Patrol is unlocked you have access to all the beacons in the "Cargo Hold". This then opens up the possibility for a new Patrol Mission type to plant more beacons in the next explorable areas. If the Quest had you plant 4 beacons, then one of those 4 in Patrol will have the objective to "Explore the X and plant more beacons to expand the City's influence." or whatever. X would be one of the next areas like "Engine Room" or "Spawning Pools" or "Oryx's Whipping Chamber" or whatever they've named the explorable areas. Once all areas have been explored and beacons have been planted it reverts back to the normal lineup of Patrol Misions. The rewards for this Quest could be whatever they could think of and for the new Patrol Mission type the Faction Rep reward could be like a 100 or something. Basically this adds an extra mission to the game and then X amount of exploration missions depending on how many areas there are. Any thoughts on this?
