I dont intend to sound mean but you need to set your standards higher especially when it comes to story I would say any bioware game or halo 4, bioshock, Last of us can show you how good a story can be in a game both Destinys and COD's strong suits are in core gameplay which they are arguably the best at so I reckon when you try other games it will hit you pretty hard that the gameplay isn't as smooth as what you're used to best way I can summaries it is COD/Destiny are like standards action film blockbusters while you still have movies like Lord of the rings which take story to a whole other level
