Trials just broke me as a person
I love scout rifles, like LOVE them, so I was ecstatic seeing the scholar being sold.
I'm not great at PVP but I managed to get up to 5 and 2. I equipped the boon where the next win will count as two but I couldn't afford to lose.
Lost.
Seriously I don't think I've ever been so depressed. I don't even have a reason to play the game anymore.
I understand having PVP goodies for the tryhards out there on a mountain dew iv drip, but in comparison, the HoW PVE weapons are TRASH compared to trials weapons.
The excuse of "well PVP players don't want to play PVE" doesn't apply here because PVE isn't literally impossible to those players. For those not great at PVP, those trials weapons are literally IMPOSSIBLE to attain.
I just don't know what to do with myself...I just feel empty as if Destiny isn't even worth playing anymore.
Sigh it's just like excuse me while I go overdose on benadryl.

Think they should really consider taking the loss part out then even players that do bad can fight through and eventually make it to the lighthouse, just to be clear to crybabies its my personal opinion so dont get your tampons in a bunch..ok?..ok!

it's all practice & strategy. I'm pretty decent at PVP but if you look at my stats im very average. it's about having a good strategy, playing your roll, & staying away from engagements where you're outnumbered. I get to the lighthouse every week not because I'm better than everyone because I'm absolutely not, but because me & my fireteam have a strategy, execute, & adapt to what they're doing it needed. you'll get it sometime don't worry just keep practicing.

I hear you man. I felt the exact same way after numerous 5 and 6 win runs for the messenger. It pretty much broke me and soured me on trials as a whole. I wish they would make all the rewards (other than lighthouse) obtainable with some type of cumulative grind. All the current system does is sour more and more players each week.

Keep at it dude, the more time spent on trials the better, don't buy boons just go in as a learning curve. Once you feel your team are working together then go for a real flawless run. I went 8-0 then lost the last match :( but then went 9-0 within an hour, practise makes perfect.

Flawless runs are usually really easy, Just focus on playing pvp like 75-90% of the time. Learn the maps inside out and practice till your gun skill is good enough.

Tried again this week, got another elder cipher, THEY MAKE THE ELDER CIPHER DROP MORE FREQUENTLY THAN THE LEGENDARY PRIMARIES! This is why people who are bad at pvp are being forced to play ToO to at least get something decent. In ToO, you are guaranteed 4 legendaries! 1 weekly armor, 1 weekly weapon, gold package reward, and Lighthouse reward. Bungie NEEDS to fix PoE loot.

2 RepliesYeah same. I just want the Messenger. All I see for the requirements for trials is that i must have been to lighthouse before. To this day I've never even been able to attempt it. It's not like I'm bad, I'm just not 2.0 k/d. I can hold my own and in iron banner and normal crucible I find myself at the top or towards the top most games.

i do have all of ToO weapons and the scholar in my opinion is too slow. id rather stick with MIDA... Tip: try to get yourself involved in skirmish more often, and you will notice your skills improve quickly :) Also if you dont get the 5 wins this week it doesnt matter because every week is a chance to get the scholar with an elemental damage from the lighthouse's chest...

The only thing you can do is keep playing and get better. That's probably not what you want to hear, but instead of being depressed about it, keep improving. Look to the future, not the present, by the time Destiny 2 comes out, you could be way better than you are now, and if trials or any pvp event is in there, you'll be able to make it.

3 RepliesOn the bright side, a perfectly-rolled Gheleon's defeats the Scholar in PvE. I mean, the only reason you'd even use the Scholar in PvE is when you have the Adept version. If PvE is your specialty, maybe you should try working towards a Wolves' Leash II or ascending Fang/VoC instead.

I feel ya man. I have yet to get to the lighthouse because I don't have any friends that are good in PvP. Plus, 90 percent of people who have gone to the lighthouse won't play with you unless you have been before. Making it even harder when finding a random group. It's still fun though even when you want to throw your controller through a wall lol

It could be worse I went 8-0 then the next game we lost 5-4 in overtime on the last round and then won the next one 5-0 making it 9-1 no lighthouse for me

5 RepliesTrials is top end sweaty pvp its great not everyone is going to make lighthouse straight away. With practice and a regular group it can be done. I agree though that the poe primary weapons are rubbish. They should address that first as this would help pve only players
