Don't ya just love how balanced PVP is?
I mean seriously Bungie, great job, your weapon balancing is so good, every gun has such a fair chance of winning to the other gun, bravo.
Hate and say im moaning all you want, but the pvp world nowadays is nothing compared to when the game was released, was so much more fun.
Edit: For anyone who is agreeing with my opinion on weapon balancing, thank you, you don't need to agree with me your entitled to your own opinion which I and everyone else should respect.
For those all being negative, it is not needed, this post was simply put up by me to express opinions upon weapon balancing, "butthurt" "sucking at pvp" "get good scrub" comments are not required, if you have an opinion, share it, bungie says they are reading this forums, tell them what you think. If you have anything negative to state, please keep it to yourself. Thank you.

Bungie has some serious fixing to do in pvp.
Edit: Thank you to all who replied and supported this thread, bouncing all these ideas around has been very interesting to read, hopefully Bungie reads and takes this into account, we can always hope.

Even though this post is a few days old now, for whoever does see it, the point stands, Deej confirmed in the weekly update they are looking into a weapon rebalance... finally. Though we have no idea when this may take place, I think I may stand for many when saying lets just hope them taking their time means we can look forward to a really balanced playstyle allowing all guns to have a fair chance, not just a limited few which force us to use them, regardless of whether we like them or not.

It maybe worth a comment to state this, I started using an AR in Iron Banner, most people will think why? They do no damage, I went positive on the first game, not boasting for myself but I was very proud of that. Then one of my teammates noticed I was using it and called me brave then I said everyone get your AR out... since that? 7 game winning run, all against thorns and last words, the flinch that the AR deals to the player completely messes their aim up allowing for the AR to kill the Hand Cannons, worth giving it a go, been right fun so far.

(besides pulse rifle) Most op thing were fusion rifles but it wasn't necessarily as bad as shotguns. I really do cherish those days :( Now crucible is shotgun & thorn

Edited by knightslayer343: 7/2/2015 10:14:47 AMI think specific shotgun range should be nerfed in pvp, felwinters, party crasher, matador, and judgement still have ridiculous range, shotguns should be more akin to the halo shotgun, it should be only viable at just out of melee range, in halo it would take a full clip of shotgun shells to take down an enemy at the range that felwinters can kill at now

2 RepliesEdited by knightslayer343: 7/1/2015 9:33:55 PMI would enjoy a crucible playlist where you could only use legendaries so no matter what kind of gun is in power its pinnacle exotic-e.g. Suros for ARs, thorn for HCs, red death for pulses although mida is really well balanced and is the only exotic scout. I guess scouts have always been in a really good place- could not be used and the TTK would be much longer so 1on1s would not be over as soon as they started. After reading my own comment here I realise it is badly structured so I'm sorry if you don't understand it

2 RepliesThey can't balance the weapons in this game. This could be because of exotics, financial constraints or simply that they lack the creativity to design and implement a suitable solution. What they can do is allow each weapon class it's time to shine and then reduce them to dust collectors in the vault. Autos have had their chance, hand cannons are having theirs now. Who knows what will be next. My money is on pulse rifles.

1 ReplyThe only true "balancing" is giving everybody the same weapon with the same stats. Where's the fun in that? I think the fun is in deciding which weapon you want in your exotic slot and deciding on a good load out. People run thorn because that's all you ever hear and everybody feels they have to use it. Eventually they do and get good with it (I hardly think it gives you free kills until you get good with it), but the same people would get good with ill will and a nice roll if that's all that was talked about. Look at the people that are great with fusions and snipers. If the forum was full of "nerf" them, everybody would start running them instead.

The PvP world of Thorn, TLW and shotguns is so much different than Suros, Vex and fusion rifles isn't it? That's all we saw for the first few months of the game. The only difference is for some reason Bingie decided not to put a balance patch in this time around. Idk why. This meta was ok for a while, but it's so stale now.
