So last night I found someone pretty rare I think

Well last night my friend and I wanted to do a 34 Poe before the reset so we posted and we found someone. The game changed dramatically... My friend and i are both 34s and he was a 33. We didn't mind we've carried people before so we like a little challenge (not that it ever is). We were in fact carried by this new guardian we had found. He had never finished a 34 Poe coz people would always kick him for not being a 34!! He did much better than we had thought he could have done. We then asked why he was using an average scout rifle and not a fang or vision. His response shocked us. He had never done a raid!! We asked why and he said he would always get kicked because he hasn't done it before.. I slightly cried a little and then we made him join our clan and did raids with him. Sadly didn't get him a fatebringer but he was more than ecstatic when he got his black hammer :)! I Just hate how this community puts people down and doesn't give people chances. He is possibly in the top 10 players I've met and now he is a friend im going to help through all raids and Poes he needs!!! Edit: I can't believe how many people actually agree!! I honestly thought I would have been hit with all negative comments but I gladly want to play the game more and more wth you great guardians. I ask we just help those who aren't given a chance :) keep up the loving

    • Good people are out there. The problem is that the a$$hats in the community are a lot louder than the good ones. Find em and friend em.

      • I've also helped. I helped a 23 through his first normal VOG and in the end he got TLW he was ecstatic and I got my 2nd Gjallarhorn and he said "he felt sorry for me but at least I got an exotic" I've played with him since then now he is 34 with a 27 second character

      • I was lvl 33 for a long time and I wasn't allowed to do anything with anyone who were 34. I'm now 34 and let 33 join

      • Maybe this is just me but learning to run the Vault again has been a pain lol. By learning I mean remembering how to run it because you haven't run it in months. Took a guy through two nights ago with a random team. The guy never raided before but was a 33 I believe. Anyway he was pretty good just the confluxes and the teleporting screwed him up. Nothing ridiculous. We even got him holding the relic if I randomly got killed at the Templar. He did great. Point being I remember having to do the raid at 29. I don't post a level when I host just bring your a game and if you are a 28/9 on hard just try to hang back and cover our asses. :)

      • Yet another reason matchmaking should exist for everything. Pairing up 33s together would have helped him.

      • I have had the same thing happen to me. Day one player and I had never completed a raid. Last night some friends i met randomly took me through the raid 4 times on two characters. I recieved crota's bazooka, pistol, fusion rifle, pulse rifle, both shader's, hunter helmet and boots! Best loot I have ever gotten in one night!

        • Whenever I post for raids or groups, I don't care who I get. I don't care if they have a Gjallorhorn or are a certain level. I've done the VoG over 120 times, so it's a cake walk for me but I know that for other newer players, it's not. I will admit that it can get a little frustrating playing with people that don't know what they are doing but everyone was like that at one point. It's always nice to see new people getting better at the game.

          • Lol it is pretty shocking. Ran VoG with two clan mates and a few randoms. We wanted to run a quick Crota afterwards and the randoms were like "ah we will just back out... Never down Crota before..." Why is that a problem? We ran them through it.

          • I dont say this to brag, but whenever ibhost a raid i ask for the NECESSARY LEVEL!!! nowadays im on "recruitment" and all i fond is "Need team for VOG Hard, 34 and gjallarhorn only" I see these posts and itvmakes me want to puke. We werent level 34 when VOG fist came out. So whenever i host a Raid. I ask for level 26+ for normal, 28 for hard. AND THATS HOW IT SHOULD BE!!! good shit man im glad you do what you do.

            • We had 2 players join us last night on crota normal that had never done it before either! I can't believe that people still shun guardians for being inexperienced. Special thanks to the swordbearer. He ran it twice so they could swap charachters.

            • Thumbs up Guardian. Had a similar experience not long ago. About 4 of us got together and started doing CE just to goof around. A random guy, I was on his friends list after adding bulk friends as you do, joined and asked if we mind him joining as he had never done a raid, ever. We restarted, as we had just cheesed bridge, and ran him through legit. Cheeky bugger ended up with pretty damn good loot drops too. The greatfullness and pure excitement in his voice took me back to my first VoG I was run through by a random team. Makes it all worth it.

            • Right up until I stopped playing destiny I would constantly take new guardians through raids. I loved hearing them when they got something they really wanted.

            • Yeah I'm one of them. I can't stand it. I'm really good and nobody wants to invite me into their clan. I've put my time into this game a lot. It sucks because nobody wants a player with girmoire score under 3500

            • I'm in that category! I've tried a few times to get in on a raid and I've been kicked all because I've never done one.... I'm sorry but I work awkward hours and don't have many friends who own Destiny let alone even play a console! I just think it's sad how others demand the highest level and a blam-ing gjallahorn!

              • We were looking for a team to do VoG last night and saw countless posts saying must level 34. Seriously? The damage cap ends at 3 levels apart so it makes no difference anyhow. You can complete it on Hard being 29 as many of us in sure ( forever 29 ) have. Sad times indeed

              • Every message I get says something along the lines of '34 only'. I need to complete arenas on my titan but everyone just denies me the chance ):

                • But newbie raids are so fun! It breaks some of that monotony of destinys average grind and makes you actually try while helping others. If any of you are having this issue on the 360 hit me up, or even just my clan. Almost all of us are willing to help anyone with just about anything. I'm glad more people are also willing to help others. Destiny community is not quite as toxic as I thought.

                • We were all like that at one time..... Clueless, level 29 for days... Not knowing what we were doing.. If I didn't have a good team who helped guide me through, I would have never been able to experience the raids. EVERYONE at one point in time fit this description. Cut the noobs a break. Help out when you can.

                • Most of the time I will see if they have a weapon to drop say Crota if not I will show them how to run sword and I will drop him to give them a chance to learn how to run sword and to keep the group from getting mad from having to start over and over
