Just had the most fun on Destiny in Ages...
Ran the VOG Hard at level 30 with 300 attack weapons.
Had to buy a pair of white level 15 boots to get my level down to the 'strictly 30 rule'!! Everyone else did a bit of swopping around hit the magic 30 number,we all dusted off some old weapons from the vault, we donned our chatterwhite, and flew to venus in our aspects of glass!!
Took 2.5 hours, only had 5 men for first part of raid, just managed to do the confluxes only 3 left for last min of final round, last 10 secs 1 died and then one on way to the hidy hole..
Then we wiped a few times on Templar (we were very close 3 or 4 times the problem was he kept hitting enrage..we had no 300 gallys or IB..so were using epilouges and old auto rifles (shadowprice ftw!!) and a couple of prayadeths..
Maze was no problem as was jumping puzzle gate keepers went smoothly (although they were harder as we could only muster one hazen 300 and an LMG (no gally gally stroll to the relic!!)
Straight on to atheon...critting for a huge 7k!!, despite this burned through half his health, then he did his shoot through the shield trick..only left 4, next run, person outside did a great job of holding the sync plate solo...tho it did take him a few seconds to realise was holding wrong plate, so only had a few secs of damage...third teleport went nice and smooth..we had that old touch and go shall will burn shall we do another teleport..keep shooting, keep shooting...atheon down with 1 second left.

7 RepliesLast time I played vault of glass everything went normally until the Templar. Everyone but myself had died and I was the relic holder, I had just obtained my relic super so I shot the Templar with it swapped to my gjallerhorn and emptied the clip, then abruptly died. In our fire teams final moments we see the Templar crumble then at the last second we all revived and were rewarded. The best feeling ever!

VoG is still the best activity in Destiny and gives the best loot.

8 Repliesshame to have to drop down to it. they should have made a higher level version of the raids with new DLC rewards but if they did that no one would shoot the mobs in the prison.

2 RepliesMy best raids were the forever 29 VoG runs. Also one Crota run when sword bearer died at enrage and I ran up there just in time to save the day. The other day I did VoG with 31s-34s. Me and another guy were the only VoG vets. It took awhile since we had to explain parts, but that was a really fun raid none the less.

Doing the boss fight the way it was intended is pretty challenging. After beating it I felt I actually accomplished something in the game instead of cheesing it.

26 RepliesYou do know that defense and attack caps off at the aliens lvl right? So if you are lvl 30 or even lvl 54, you still deal the same amount dmg with the same guns despite the difference in lvl. Don't believe me? Try killing a lvl 4 dreg, then shoot a 15 dreg. They will both require the same amount of crit/body shots to die. They will also kill you with the same amount of bullets. You should have done vog as lvl 29. You would have dealt 20% less dmg and took 20% more dmg. Many ppl was stuck at 29, and they did vog hard weekly.

Vault of glass is just fun to do, I'm a day one player and have nothing to gain from it, it's just the activity that's the most fun to do. I hope the next raid is big and mysterious like vault of glass

Yeah I love VOG. Its the standard all raids and content should be compared to when they're building new things for Destiny.

3 RepliesWell done but lvl 30 is so high. I'm currently trying to put together a blue gear only vog normal run lvl 26 with no legendary weapons. Should be fun times.
