I almost pre-ordered The Taken King as soon as it was announced and listed at £28. I was heading out on vacation so left it until I returned only to find the UK price has now been revised upwards to £40. This is a significant bump and 50% more expensive than the US equivalent at $40.
I find this unacceptable and will not be buying but I'm curious to see how the genuine Destiny fans feel about this rather than the very vocal and somewhat biased nay-sayers that populate the regular gaming site articles and forums.
There is also the question of the Legendary edition being £46 from Amazon or £75 digital, but that's another story.
(I did scan the forums looking for a similar question and didn't spot one, sorry if I'm duplicating anything)

Just gona say, I do not support the UK pricing but... look around online for ttk legendary edition.. you can find it for £38 on a few sites. That's cheaper than the stand alone taken king + you can trade in your original destiny :)

Listen I am an American, or Yank if you please but I believe that it should be the same price regardless. I hate to say games are catered towards us sadly and companies like Activision make you guys pay more.Literally. Even here, many people thibk $20 shouldve been the prices for the first two, which it was. We expected 25-30 max for taken king. But 40 is the cost of the base game as of november last year to today. We all know its not enough to be a base game. Bungie should lower prices in future, and they should lower yours by even more. See this is what happens when bungie lets activision take over.

Not ordering until it's the same price for all players, even if it means waiting till I can pick it up from a bargain bin.
-
Not from the UK, but either Bungievision don't know how money works, or they're just greedier than I thought. This is just plain stupid.
-
Why didn't people get as upset about the Expansion Pass being £35/$35 or the individual DLCs being £20/$20? With TTK, Bungie are following the same pricing they have done with all the other DLC so far so why did people think TTK would be any different? Personally, I'll wait until there's concrete details about the content included in TTK before deciding if it's worth the £40 price tag.

UK isn't the only country in EU getting screwed wheres the love for sweden
-
To be fair, companies have been screwing UK for years. Be lucky your not in Australia
-
Yep, it's dumb. Especially considering that we don't know exactly what it is we're paying for.
-
I have to agree the exchange rate is messed up here, wasn't the last 2 DLC's also £20 each?

No. I'm from the U.S. but I think this dlc pricing nonsense that you guys have to deal with is ridiculous.
