Why we need Faction Wars
Because it would be badass as hell.
It could be a week long event, just like Iron Banner. Representatives from each faction (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy and Future War Cult) would take up shop in the event area.
But these representatives would have more powerful faction items, and preferably unique armor sets to each faction (not just different colored like now)
For a week you would battle in the Crucible under the faction you choose too. Leveling and XP would be similar to Iron Banner (with Bounties and medallions from lost matches) and would unlock stronger faction gear.
I think it would be more badass if you had to lock into a faction for a week, and there was an overall point score, and the winning faction at the end of the week could receive a special faction oriented shader or ship.
Let me hear your thoughts guardians! This would be awesome!

Edit 1: I've seen some ideas for the faction wars to carry over to PvE also!
Edit 2: I forgot to mention this as other guardians have brought it up. Your crucible team would consist entirely of your faction, against a team represented by one of the other factions.

The factions – New Monarchy, Dead Orbit and Future War Cult, are looking to capitalize on the re-emergence of light. As the Speaker sits quietly alone in the tower, they each plot to take control. It is only a matter of time, before one faction becomes the predominate force in the solar system. It is time for you to decide Guardian. Choose a side, or be left wanting. Play “[b]Gluttony[/b]” an all new weekly 6v6 competitive multiplayer event with a twist. Simultaneously face off against an opposing faction of guardians and the darkness’s minions…in wave based combat. • Once you choose a faction…your progression for only this event is locked to that faction until the end of the week. • Matches consist of three 5 minute rounds with increasingly difficult waves of enemies. • Individual kill feeds of minions stack toward your team score. Take out an opposing guardian in the process, gain a 1 time score multiplier. But if you die, the feeding is over. • Faction with highest cumulative global score at the end of the week... reaps the rewards in all new (respective) faction weapons & gear. New modifier pick-ups scattered randomly about the map. • Second Course – X2 scoring for limited time. • Cooked – accelerated grenade recharge rate. …and many more. Three New Faction Themed Maps (on constant rotation) Unique faction announcer for each respective team. Randomized enemies and spawn locations every round. Turret placements and vehicles included.

2 RepliesEdited by Tinker (Chloe): 6/28/2015 3:06:40 AMHow about this for it as well. 25% bonus to rep for it if the faction you choose is actually your highest levelled faction -apart from Rahool brownie points (cryptarch) or a DLC faction(Eris, HoJ, Queen's) 0% if your highest levelled faction is either Vanguard or crucible. -10% if your highest level faction is a rival faction (I.E: NM, FWC or DO) This would mean the game would reward you for loyalty to a faction that you support for this event.

It would be cool if they did a three team deathmatch then you can play against both factions. This way you won't play the same faction over and over.

This idea is great. Bungee really only designed these factions as space fillers in the tower. To see these factions interpreted into the game would be *blam*ing epic Triple bump

Battle arena faction warfare. Each battle will see factions taking sides with enemies, the idea being/and the title: The lesser of two evils. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I would have two home bases that need to be overran/destroyed, with four other towers/bases, two on each side of the map that when taken can either be upgraded with defences or can spawn different units. You get points to spend on upgrades by killing enemies, 20 points for Dreg, 30 for Vandal and so on. Killing Guardians nets you 150 maybe, that can be balanced. In this mode you can ONLY use Faction armour, weapons and no exotics. Imagine waiting to see where the map is and who will be fighting with who each time it drops. And also, some kind of short story on why the factions are fighting and what they hope to achieve would be great.

2 RepliesOk, yeah. I'm in. I've been saying this for a while now. Another point is that you should be matchmade with your own Faction teammates, so 6 FWC Guardians against 6 Dead Orbit Guardians. P.S. Check out my Titan. I'm ready.
