Everyone knows that we need more vault space. We also, probably need less gear to be honest. Most of us have multiples of our better weapons / armor because they have different perks or we are too afraid to get rid of them because you don't get anything worth a damn for trashing them. Its nice that Legendary Weapons give you motes of light now, but what about the people with 3 of X exotic? I for one am swimming in Exotic shards, so when I have a second exotic to dismantle it feels like a waste. That doesn't even take into account the million duplicate shaders and ships that i've acquired which give me NOTHING when I "Scrap" them. (which you would assume would give you parts) I think I might have a (minor) solution. What if you could trade your extra weapons, armor, shaders, ships, and sparrows to the faction of your choice for rep / the chance at a better item. It makes sense from a story standpoint. You would be supporting the war efforts of the faction of your choice, and they should reward you for it. Maybe something like: 1000 rep for an exotic item 250 for exotic shard 150 for a legendary 250 for a legendary ship 25 for a rare ship (you can buy them so the rep needs to be low) 50 for any non-vendor shader 50 for motes of light These could even be turned in for something separate from rep.. maybe a new set of points towards, I don't know, THE SHADERS OR SHIPS FROM THE FACTION? Might be cool. This is not a solution to the space problem, but it might help a little. It would certainly push people to actually get rid of some of the items they have been hoarding that they don't have any reason to get rid of currently. Something has to give.
