[b][u]Episode 6: Times Vengeance[/u][/b] [i]Three years ago.[/i] Kabr roared with anger as he attacked Atheon, swinging his shield. The death of his friend Praedyth had unleashed determination he could never have achieved before. He and Osiris assaulted Atheon, Kabr slamming with his shield, and Osiris sending elemental blasts with his staff. But Atheon remained unfazed. He matched blast for blast, slam for slam. It did not seem like he would give ground any time soon. Kabr threw his shield knocking Atheon's Aeon Maul away. Osiris followed through, firing two blasts that knocked Atheon of balance. "Try again." Atheon chuckled. Kabr threw his shield again, knocking Atheon's weapon away. Osiris followed through again with two blasts from his staff, but Atheon blocked them. Kabr gasped, he and Osiris startled that they had just repeated their attack. "That is right, you are experiencing time as a loop, which I can reset again and again." Atheon gestured as a portal opened. "However, there is a way out, I can send you to the future." Osiris stepped towards the portal in wonder. "The future?" Kabr looked at him nervously. "Osiris, stay focused. it is not real!" he tried holding his friend back, but Osiris was mesmerized. "Oh but it is. In here, we can create our reality" Atheon was not fighting anymore, he had already won. Osiris looked back at Kabr, his eyes filled with false hope. "Goodbye old friend." he walked through the portal, which disappeared with him. "You're mission has failed, Guardian, the Vault of Glass still stands, your team is gone, one into the future, one into the past." Atheon stood over Kabr, who had fell to his knees. "And your end shall be in the present." he slammed his arm down, which Kabr barely blocked with his shield. Atheon frowned, "That shield, it should not exist." Kabr got to his feet. "How did you create it in here?" "I destroyed your Gorgon, ripped it's shell from it's body." he looked up at Atheon. "I gave our successors a fighting chance." he threw the shield into the Abyss before Atheon could destroy it. "You created something in a place where only we can create... you shall not die today, you will become one of us!" Kabr screamed in pain as a mental blast shredded his consciousness. "My mind..." he writhed on the ground. "You're mind will be linked to the Vex network, you will be a tool of our conquest." Kabr dragged his body towards the edge, trying to escape. "Before you're mind is gone, know this, you shall one day be helpless, unable to act, your friends dying around you. When that day comes, you must decide how it will end." Kabr lost conciousness, falling over the side. _______________________________________ [i]Present day.[/i] Dredgen had only felt this close to death once, the day he had actually died. The combined assault of Urrox and Gulrot had weakened him and Toland, who had already passed out. They had failed, the Hive had won, earth was lost. Dredgen closed his eyes, and waited for the end. But the end did not come. Dredgen opened his eyes as Kabr slammed Gulrot with his shield, the ogre cowered from the brutality of each swing. "This day will not end in defeat. Nothing, the Vex, the Hive, NOTHING, will claim Earth for their own. Mankind has come too far to be ended like this!" he subdued Gulrot with a final blow, then turned to Urrox. Dredgen unsteadily got to his feet, and tried to wake up Toland. "Are we dead yet?" the warlock groaned. "Nobody is dying today, now get up you lazy Warlock!" Toland got to his feet, and nearly fell again from the sight. Kabr was winning. Despite the giant Hive prince's effort, Kabr was winning. Urrox lit the floor ablaze, trying to throw Kabr off. But Kabr went up, ignoring the flames. Then he did the most shocking move of all. He headbutted the knight, causing Urrox to stumble, giving Kabr an opening. "When you wake up, tell your god Oryx this. Earth will not be an easy victory for him. He'll have to throw every single thing at us from here to hell." he slammed his shield down on Urrox's head, incapacitating him. Kabr turned to face his team, who stared at him in shock and awe. "So, what happens now?" "Now?" the three Guardians jumped at the voice, they turned to see a new figure, a Fallen, in their midst. "Now I will be taking these two abominations to the Prison of Elders..." "Who are you?" Toland raised Bad Juju, weary of this being. "Why are you here?" "I am Variks, Warden of the Prison of Elders..." he looked at the three, sizing them up and staring them down. "I remember you three, you entered my prison, tried to kill my prisoner. The Queen thinks you freed him, but I know better." he rapped his staff on the ground. "However, that does not grant you forgiveness. Be wary Guardians, the next time we meet will be on one side of the bars," he and his prisoners began to fade away. "Or the other." _______________________________________ The end.
