Made This Thread Back in a time when I was seriously let down by Year 1 Destiny. I protested The Taken King every chance I got, until a friend of mine kindly file shared his code to me to help him with raids. I came back only the and I'm glad I did. Right now, I've thoroughly enjoyed this new DLC, and my faith in this games future has been rekindled. Crucible still sucks but thats only one of a few minor complaints I have about the game.
I'm not ashamed of what I've said in the past so I wont delete it. This threads just going to exist because I believe that if you delete your post, that means you regret what you say, and I don't regret what I say. However for now, I'm liking the Taken King.
"Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"
Well not this time. I will admit you are clever Bungie, but you're not fooling me with the Taken King. Are you seriously asking $40 for DLC content? The base Destiny game is barely worth $40 to begin with, but now your pulling this crap with us again? For starters, your track record for keeping promises is a bit muddy. For $40, you'll give us 1 new area to explore, 1 new subclass for each Player class, new weapons , new enemies, missions and a raid.... for 2/3rd's the price of a brand new Destiny game. Yet if theres anything we've learned from the past, it's that you'll deliver less content again, and the cycle will continue. Not in the very least to mention the PS4 Exclusives AND the BS Legendary Edition. The only thing that's Become Legend in Destiny is your greed, Bungie.
I've been a loyal fan of Destiny up until now. I've done everything from VoG to ToO, in a repetitive manner of insanity. But this is the last straw, once Oryx lands to destroy The Tower once and for all, I'm packing my Ghost and Gjallahorn, then flying my 'Hildian Seeker' to galaxies unknown. Maybe then I can find some more sh!t to do.
To all the other guardians, I ask you this. Are you really going to take this abuse?
EDIT*
I'm not asking to make TTK free, I'm just pointing out that $40 is to high a price, for what will be less content than what we perceive. Not to mention the PS4 exclusives(which aren't that big a deal, but come one Bungie)
It's been two months since this went up.Things have changed and after all that has occurred within the last two months, I have a new decision.
Instead of not buying the Taken King, I've decided that my time is better spent playing just about anything else, so I personally won't be playing anymore future Destiny content or past content.
I could list every issue wrong with this game (it's quite extensive) but Destiny is simply just a cash grab, mobile game, gambling simulator, and its boring, even with new content.
Was the game fun? Yes. Did I enjoy it for the most part? Yes. Did I spend a large amount of time playing it(and with friends)? Yes.
But with the the new patches, lack of effort in future content, sporadic weapon buffs/nerfs and THE REPETITIVE GAMEPLAY, I'm simply tired of Bungies soulless attitude towards us.
I tried playing the other day and I actually had more fun pulling an MST3K type commentary of their lackluster cutscenes.
Destiny was too ambitious for its own good. It may have been a commercial success (I haven't read the sales numbers) and it may be fun for many people to do the same shit over and over again, but for this "Guardian", it's time to retire the old Fatebringer and Gjallehorn (or whatever the hell its been reduced to).
Me not playing Destiny anymore won't "effect" anyone and I realize no one really cares, but mark my words, you will eat those word against me and One day, you too will leave Destiny.
Edited by ParasiticFilth: 7/6/2015 4:00:21 AMOh yeah, they'll tank the abuse like a beaten housewife. "He gave me this black eye because he loves me." Bungie's got them coupled into this abusive relationship, with their psychological experiments. They believe there's actually a story or a complete game behind just a few more paywalls.
-
The way Bungievision used the bait and switch on players is almost criminal. Advertising one game to get pre-orders sold then substituting that game with this hollow version. Over the last year, they've ignored all calls for a complete single player story, for optional matchmaking, for an in game LFG, among requests. Now with the Taken King they're following their demonstrated pattern of conduct, talking up the eye candy and blowing more smoke up our a**es. Their vidocs are a chronicle of the lies and decit theyve used to sell this game. Another huge expansion for the broken PvP, with a few hours of story to play then nothing but brain dead grinding. Then we have to wait another 3-4 months to get another tiny piece.

*DeeJ, sitting comfortably in his house, walks to his phone. He reads the OP* "Dear god no..." He says. *DeeJ gets in his car and drives as fast as he can to the Bungie HQ. It breaks down halfway there. Heroically, he runs through tundras and deserts, finding a horse and taking it just to get there faster* *Meanwhile, Ryan sits in his desk, taking calls and directing cutscenes for teasers and missions* *DeeJ bursts through the doors* "Sir-!" Ryan cuts him off, "Hey DeeJ. Calm down. What's the matter?" "THExELITEx won't buy TK." DeeJ replies "Shit. Get the button." *deej punches "break in case of code 4" glass* *he hands Ryan the button through all the glass debris* *ryan puts on a white latex glove and smashes it* *confetti pops out of the floor and lights show up saying No one cares.* *"yea" is heard in the distance* "Good work DeeJ. Keep me updated. How much profit in sales we got of preorders?" "Millions and counting." "Keep the players happy, DeeJ." *DeeJ leaves the office* *ryan looks down at the button* "Money well spent."

I've said this before. The Dark Below and House of Wolves were obviously content that was ripped out of the original game and reworked as DLC because of the previous story designed and created by Joseph Staten had been largely butchered. While both DLCs SHOULD have been given to players for FREE to account for this, Bungie or Activision or both decided, for some dumbass reason, to sell them to us instead for $20 a piece. Together, the total is $40 which already makes up the cost for what they want for TTK. Simply put, its greed. Something needs to give. They ALREADY got their $40 from us for Dark Below and House of Wolves, and they were both ridiculously overpriced. The value of the content for both did NOT, under any circumstances, equate to what was paid for them. And its even more of an insult to our wallets and intellect that they would sell us the CE Digital Content separately for ANOTHER $20 which means they are, once again, over charging for crap. Because they are basically saying that these CE items (not the physical stuff, the actual collector items. JUST the digital content) is equal in value to Dark Below which at least had a RAID in it and the House of Wolves. They have obviously demonstrated that they have zero clue about what the actual value is for their content. At any rate, what is done cannot be undone. Now, they need to make amends for the wrongs. And that begins with them doing MORE for us. And this crap where they keep shit secret and don't reveal anything or communicate to the community likewise needs to stop like now.

Edited by George Liquor: 10/13/2015 7:16:17 AMHow'd you get to lvl 40. Man you sure showed bungie that you're not gonna stand for their crap. OP baits children over the internet to fellate his dirty penor. Reply if you agree. People who agree: Erebus

TTK is so popular now that who really cares about your opinion anymore. People are having fun with the new subclasses and all the exotics(especially the swords) that nobody cares what you have to say anymore.

This is a binary choice. With the way level advantages and content lockouts work you have two stark choices. You either stop playing Destiny or you buy the upgrade. There is no middle ground. Not buying the upgrade is a recipe for social exclusion (declined for groups), content exclusion (locked out of Nightfalls and Heroics) and a slew of other progression problems. These people who say they will wait or read reviews first or not buy TTK yet keep playing are fooling themselves. It's either quit or buy, there is no fence.

Edited by P00NiSHER: 7/5/2015 11:09:00 PMI blindly bought Destiny but will definately wait this time and thoroughly read reviews. The big thing in advertisement recently has been to showcase the hell out of something, even if it can't possibly live up to its full potential, and just sell sell sell regardless of the product quality that's being released. The ideas people keep giving Bungie for this game are pointless. Bungie knows what players want and more importantly, how to make a enjoyable game. What Bungie is doing is limiting the amount of content we're getting so they can slowly deliver us a full game one DLC at a time. Compare the games released today to what have been released in the past. Past games were more immersive and felt more complete. Now games are short and forgettable. Like I've stated many times before, Bungie should have released one massive game and blown everyone away THEN start to push the DLC content.
-
I like how no fan boys are hear to back up there shit game
-
I love how they attempt to disguise their laziness. Claiming to "re-imagine" old strikes that everyone avoided. How do they do it? They've simply inserted newly skinned enemies with an identity crisis where the old ones were. I'm almost impressed at how effortlessly they can sink to a new low.
-
I have over 200 friends on my friends list and more then half are going to be dropping this game.
-
-
Umm its 40$ cuz bungie was saying it's more than a dlc it's a game
-
Bump me either
-
Elder Scrolls Online ftw. Ebonheart Pact, yo.
-
Is anyone here planning on dropping this game when Fallout 4 releases?
-
Spread the knowledge!!!
-
I'll buy it only if they include optional matchmaking on ALL content. Period.
-
I'm lucky I realized this game I'd shot before house of wolves, I only wasted an extra 20
-
OK your not buying it whatever but stop telling people we don't care what you choose to do
-
If half the things on Deej's running list of $hit we want fixed is actually addressed in TTK I'll poney up the cash. But if Bungie diverted all resources from fixing a broken experience to releasing over priced DLC I'm out. Also if year one exotics can't be leveled in year two ill probably pass as well.
