I don't see why Bungie would ban anyone for using the exploit, seeing as how Bungie created it. Granted, it's a pain in the ass to encounter, but I'm sure a patch is on the way. I don't use the glitch, I see no need, and I'd rather use trip mine grenades anyway. Sticky bombs are more fun. I don't hate on anyone who uses the glitch, I mean, when I hear a golden gun, I get to the other side of the map. It only lasts like 30 seconds or whatever if you haven't fired all 3 or 4 shots, depending on your helmet.
