The Ram - Episode One "Praise The Ram"

Praise The Ram Update 2.0 A fan-fiction by Mungnum Some days I wish Sepiks Prime had just killed me, other days I’m glad that I survived. The only fact that remains grounded into undeniable reality, is that I have gone mad. It began when I sat before the broken buts of the Fallen god and I kicked in it's head. But as I would discover, the dead servitor was holding a worse god, a darker god... The Ram. When I peered inside the broken bits of Sepiks Prime I saw a helmet with two golden horns on either side. I pulled it out and my fireteam members, Finn and Charles were astonished. Although I couldn't figure out what the helmet did, it dawned on me that I had slain a boss, and I felt invincible. But even those who are invincible live only to die. When I returned to my ship, I told my friends If meet them back at the tower and I flew to a dead zone on Earth: Old Africa, where I kept my research. Had the Tower known that I was researching the vault of glass, they would banish me. I cut through the dense jungle and eventually, I ended up at the clearing with all of my research. But things weren't how I left them. Notes were scattered across the jungle floor. I wasn’t sure if anything was stolen, but someone or something had definitely rummaged through here. I would never throw anything away, however I found crumpled pieces of paper and torn up notes. It wasn’t a batadactyl or any other primitive beast, since it seemed to have read through all of the research, it must have been intelligent. As I sat in the clearing, trying to piece together what happened, a headless vex goblin stepped out of the forest, sparking and buzzing. Although it had no head, it was staring at me as cogs burst from the chest. It let out a vex screech and darted at me. I pushed him back with my hand, and his body flew back and caught flame. But the buzzing and shifting noises were still there. Lot was an ambush. A minotaur blinked right up to me and slammed his fist on the ground nearby. The small clearing began to fill with the mechanic demons. Thousands of goblins, hobgoblins and minotaurs. They had come for my research, I knew something the vex wanted to keep a secret. Had they found my research on the reverse time-flow effect of the vault of glass? My hand started to tremble and I heard the helmet beckon for me. ...Praise the Ram... Was that the helmet? Was the helmet calling out for me to wear it? I head a hobgoblin charge it's rifle and I rolled out of it's path. I had no other choice. I slipped The Ram onto my head all the outside noise was drowned out and I heard nothing. I couldn't move. My vision began to darken and I called out into the void, helpless: "WHO SHALL I PRAISE?!?!" A sharp voice whispered to me Praise me … Praise Me … Praise Me… rang in my ear. It continued to call out to me, louder and louder and it began to yell: "...PRAISE ME... PRAISE ME...." I shook my head and tried to pry off the helmet. I PRAISE YOU! There was silence for a moment, then it responded. Then Power you shall be granted. My hands began to shake and they surged with void energy, my eyes turned white and I floated into the air. I looked down at the sea of vex and I charged back my fist and bound it to the void. I shot it out into the air and it absorbed the machines and then imploded them outwards. I began to laugh, for the void had not left my fingers. I released another void blast and my fingers replenished again. My laughter became hysterical and I started to think: "They do not know my power, for they do not know my god. And now I know I only praise The Ram." I dived into the ground and pushed some back with void energy. My armor and wounds began to stich back together by the power of the ram. The limits of the ram was boundless and it’s power, godly. After I killed every last vex, I blacked out. When I awoke, I gathered the remaining notes and headed off to The Tower. I couldn’t tell Finn or Charles about my troubles. It felt weird to give up on my lifetime friends. But when you become one with the Ram, no other relation seems important. I just had to ignore them. “Hey! There's our John!” Finn looked at me with a jolly smile, "You totally missed out on the drinks we had down at the bar, there were these two awoken chicks and aw MAN do they know how to party!" I kept walking. He knew NOTHING of The Ram. He knew NOTHING about it’s power. I thought to myself. Then the almighty Ram began to speak again. Are you a disciple of the RAM?... Are you a disciple of the RAM?... Again and again. “Hey john!" Finn said with a confused face, "What's going on man? You okay, you know you should really take that helmet o--" He touched The Ram and I flipped around, interrupting him. “Are you a disciple of the RAM? BOY?” Finn backed up. “John, what's going on?” I forced him back. Finn frowned and his eyes burned with rage, “You want to fight?” "All those who do not praise the Ram, are but worms, fixing the dirt for us to tread on. There is no place for you in the prescience of the Ram." "You've gotta take that helmet off. It's messing with you man." "How dare you suggest such savagery, you will die and I will sacrifice your bones to the Ram." Finn put on his helm and rushed me. He stabbed me three times with his knife then tripped me to the floor. I began to laugh, and stood up. I looked up at him and stared Finn in the eyes, he was not a disciple. “Aries occidere me confortat” I said almost being possessed by the ram. I forced him down with one strike, and void energy snaked up my arm and sewed my helmet. “Thats, that's impossible!” Finn said in fear. “Those who follow the Ram know no impossibility.” “Stop fighting, I’ll get Ikora Rey, she can fix this.” Charles interrupted the fight “If you move” I put my hand on his throat and fire began to singe his neck. “I will burn you faster than even hell can muster.” Charles started to shake. He looked at the stairs to the hall of guardians and then he looked down at Finn, unconscious on the concrete. "I know you're still in there John, and I know you wouldn't hurt me..." Charles said with a waver to his voice. "IKORA COME QUI--" I crushed his neck and burned his corpse to ashes. I picked up Finns body and threw it off the towers edge. My heart shot with pain. What had I done? What did the Ram make me do? I was running out of time. I ran to the cryptarch and had him looks through some of my writings to help me uncover what the vex wanted hidden.. “These are… Forbidden writings… I’ll call the Speaker” Master Rahool told me and he began to walk to The Speaker. I shoved him down, as soon as he hit the ground I felt the Ram heal my soul again. “Call for me, Master Cryptarch.” I said almost uncontrollably. “For I am the speaker of The Ram.” Rahools face went grim and his eyes were mastered by fear. “Not the Ram! Call the Speaker! Get help, ANY HELP! The Ram will fill you with thoughts of anger. You are already powered by his rage! It may be too late, but you have to turn from this trail of darkness!” Rahool said as he pulled the Tower alarm. “Toland the Shattered…” Ikora Rey said “You really couldn’t keep from studying the darkness. Keep Rahool out of this. This fight is between you and I.” “I am not Toland” I tried to explain “I am but another host to the Ram’s might.” “Toland or not, you have assaulted two guardians and brought forbidden practices to the one safe place left.” She shot a nova blast at me and blew me into Master Rahools table. Speak to me Ram, I thought, fill me with power and knowledge. Are you my disciple? It spoke to me. I am more than your disciple, I am your slave. And With that, I was once more empowered my his glory. I rose from the cement and let loose fire and lightning. My eyes shone white out of The Ram, and I flew forward to Ikora Rey. “The Ram has never lost” I said “And I will grow it’s legacy with your corpse.” “I was wrong.” Ikora said “You are not Toland. Toland studied dark magic but he was a living breathing human. You are nothing more than a puppet of the Ram, and deserve not even a name.” She shot out a beam of light and constricted me in the air. I struggled to escape this light, but there was no use. I had failed, I had become a demon, a mere husk of The Ram. My only friends were both dead and my practices as a guardian had all been for nothing. I ask you what is the only thing more powerful than light? The Ram inquired. The Darkness, my lord. I responded Then Darkness you shall become. The light all of a sudden couldn’t touch me, for I was covered in a shield of utter darkness. I walked up to Ikora, weak from binding me, and held her up by the neck. “All days end with night Ikora, and the sunset has already begun.” I threw her over the edge of the Tower. “IKORA!” Called out Commander Zavala. Guards flooded in and started shooting at me. I ran through the east tower through to the shipyard and jumped into my ship and set course to Venus. I would decipher the reverse time effect myself.
