The One About Vault Space

I have a simple answer... Just delete everything!!!! *gets to vault of 36 ghorns to shard them all* hmmm..... We need more vault space! What happens when I hit 37 of these bad boys!? # satire
This is just a summary of my experiences with the vault space for those of you who don't care to read the whole in depth topic, although I appreciate all of you who do. I essentially found that swapping more than 3 or 4 weapons has become a hassle with vault space, and finding what character has my treasure keys shards etc has almost become a joke when I'm trying to hurry so my fireteam isn't left waiting on me to go. I respect the last gen limitations, and why they make it difficult for some updates to the game, however I feel adding more spacing for next gen, would give further incentive to take the next step in said gamers journey.
Deej, if you come across this, or anyone for that matter really...Please take the time to read it and pass it on if you can sympathize with any of it. ~~~Long read ahead, tread carefully~~ The Weapons In all seriousness, I don't mean to sound like a hoarder or a pack rat mind you.... But it's really nice to switch things up and have options, Not just a few but a lot. Technically speaking 36 is a lot and inventory space on characters is good too, but for me personally I think it would be advantageous to put pretty much everything into the vault. Advantageous you say, but how? I, like many have loadouts that I run with depending on what activity I'm running. With the release of POE, that setup is now more than just 3 weapons due to the ever changing challenges. Not only that but sometimes a shotgun may prove less useful where a sniper May shine. Sometimes it's burn may even cancel out the weapon type and suddenly the shotgun is more useful for quick bursts of damage in panicky situations. Now you may be someone who has that perfect setup that works every time! I however like to switch it up to almost always have the edge. With all this weapon swapping you've probably found yourself wondering... Where does it go? Well the vault of course! However as time goes on, and more dlc's are released we find our arsenal is suddenly packing a few more pounds... Our guardians can only carry so much. Ever grab for your Suros, only to find you've grabbed the no land beyond? Or maybe you meant to use your felwinters, but suddenly you have the comedian.... Sometimes it's nice to keep the things you have out of sight, out of mind to get the job done properly. But not forever. On occasion it's nice to come back to them and remember crucible with your shadow price, or your grim citizen. You still held on to these wonders of the past because you had space right... Or did you? I find that to keep the game fun it's nice to have variety in that which you bring your opponents demise. Normally this space should be enough for crucible etc. Right? Well, what if your an exotic collector and you'd like to keep most of them in your vault for quick access to all guardians under your title of *Kellslayer69* ect. I, as I'm sure many of my fellow gaurdians, as well as clan mates, who are still playing at this point, have picked up the task of obtaining all the exotics in the game. (Or me who wishes to collect all the event items. Additionally, like Iron banner or raid gear) That alone takes up well over 24 weapon slots( varies per platform and multiples etc) leaving 12 or less for legendaries. This obviously varies for those of you depending on your progress towards the exotics as well. That aside let's take in the crucible aspect for a moment. I collect some exotics not just for enjoyment, but also because weapons usefulness tends to change as the game progresses. Thorn used to be a lesser exotic for most. Many cried for a buff. Suros used to be the God of PvP before the numerous auto rifle nerfs. That is a topic for another day and a different post, though still worth mentioning for what it has to offer. the point I keep coming acrossed is that weapon choice changes frequently, but that doesn't necessarily mean we want to shard our old friends, does it? The General Speaking of shards, the inventory issue doesn't stop with weapons. Due to the recent chest farming for treasure keys, there has been a large increase to special ammo synthesis. While simply increasing the storage isn't a permanent fix, and merely having a delete option for them would help,it could still be applied here for those who wish to keep it in abundance. This isn't where the general storage problems stop unfortunately. Whith all these weapons comes upkeep, upgrade recources, glimmer items, and all of the newly released tokens, or weapon/armor cores that need to be taken into account. You may also find that there were some cool shaders or emblems that were very difficult or rare for you to come by that you didn't want to re obtain, so you didn't delete them. In turn filling your inventory due to lack of space. Come around to the TOO and suddenly the legendary emblem didn't go to your postmaster after the match, lost forever in the void of RNG. While this is also another completely separate issue of its own it could have been more efficiently prevented with more allotted space to put things. To Sum It All Up... This isn't a demand, or an I quit destiny post, but rather a friend offering some polite suggestions, as I'd love to see the ideas or efforts of others bloom into a bright flower of success. I respect that when we first received more vault space somewhere along the lines it was said that there most likely wouldn't be more due to last gen limitations. While I mean no disrespect to those who are still 360/ps3, I do feel that the expansion of vault space could be made next gen exclusive because of that. This would further incentivise people to take their next step to the new consoles, without directly punishing them. I do realize that those who then exceeded this limit would no longer be able to go back to last gen without exceeding the vault for past gen, howver these items, could just be invisible or better yet warn the player that they won't be able to log into last gen when they exceed the limit similar to when you have an exotic equipped and try to equip another in a different slot. Another friend of mine has also brought to my attention that you could just make the vault upgradeable. These upgrades could only be obtained through next gen and would similarly, postpone if you were to go last gen. Similarly making restrictions to his much vault space you could achieve could be directly linked towards your grimorie score. This would cap out, and provide more as doc is released. This would also provide more incentive for players to participate, and explore the universe, we call destiny. In Short I would like to thank all of you who made it this far through reading. I'm also not perfect, as much as I strive to be and am sure there are grammar errors like mud in a swamp. It happens to the best of us! I tried to entertain you while you took on this wall of text so I hope that was enjoyable as well. :) I put a decent amount of thought and time into this post so I hope it finds you well. All of those examples brought up were actually personal experience, hold the 36 ghorns! if you have any feelings to express towards this post feel free to leave them below, I'd also love to see some favorites or, bumps, signed etc. to get this trending so that one of the devs can see it. If you completely disregarded everything I've said up to this point, that's ok too! That's all for now my fellow guardians, Doom Kaiser out! * blinks off into the sunset only to realize his speech was on a cliff* GUARDIAN DOWN!!!
