I give Ubisoft some credit. They're not horrible. They just want you to climb a tower to open up your map in every game they have. It's a tower fetish I think.
-
EA got rid of many great developers and their franchises.
-
EA. Just look what they did to our precious Dungeon Keeper ... look at it. From masterpiece to mobile mockery. EA is the devil.

EA has been awful since the Atari. I stomach them because they publish a handful of good games. Activision has taken a lot of hate lately. Mostly over CoD and Destiny. But I think people are making a lot of assumptions about them, mostly because they had held Bungie to an unrealistic ideal. All in all, most publishers are "evil" to an extent because they are all about the money. They handle advertising, promotions and put the games on shelves. This allows developers to focus on the games, not the distribution, which is good for the creative process. When it gets bad is if a company gets talked into a contract they don't want to be in or can't keep up with. Which is why Halo went downhill towards the end of Bungie's stewardship (I say that because they sold Halo to MS before it was even complete and it became a work-for-hire project, wholly owned by MS, it was never Bungie's game after 2001). But yes, looking back over the past 30 years of gaming, EA has pulled more BS and had more screwed up launches than any other company. Are they really evil though or just incompetent? Like I said though, they have managed to squeeze out some of my favorite games though... So the love-hate relationship is strong.

The gaming industry as a whole is pretty bad.
-
Sledgehammer , 343i , and ubisoft seem fine to me. Sledgehammer did good on their first call of duty 343i messed up a couple of times but I have faith I like ubisoft games. Only bad thing was AC Unity

. . . . .
industry
Activision has put out a lot of games purely in the name of profit, seizing incredible licenses and hiring developers to make them into unplayable pieces of crap. EA is also highly profit-focused, but they're getting smart about promoting their games. That EA Ronku program was genius.
-
343. If you take over Halo you're not allowed to stop making halo games. Especially not after just two installments.
