I purchased The Summoner from the Osiris vendor last week for the hell of it. I used to be into auto rifles before they got nerfed, and I saw that Summoner had decent impact. After using it for a few days, I remembered how much I liked autos. I'll stick with them for now, at least for lower level activities. Might even pull my exotics out of the vault for a change. Anyone else still using auto rifles even though they're arguably the worst weapon type out there now?

My favorite Auto Rifle right now is the "For the People" from last expansion, I have persistence and rangefinder on that bad boy and it has been my favorite Auto since,I am still hoping for a Suros Regime or Monte Carlos.
-
Yup. Only if they've got an agility perk, though. Otherwise, I prefer Handcannons.
-
I still have my Doctor Nope in my vault. Ah... good ole' times! May use it again if I ever get an ethiric light.
-
Abyss defiant is still okay. Depends on how you use it

Pest control

Yeah, occasionally. I never liked them much, even pre-nerf, but they're good fun when you get into the groove with them. I've recently been building up a triplicate Suros Regime so I can discard for 2 exotic shards, and it's a lot of fun -- also pretty versatile, even at Range.
-
It is shocking how in-efficient all the Normal - Legendary Auto Rifles have become. The most basic of enemies seem to take an tire clip of ammo before they go down. Apparently the only Auto Rifle worth owning and using is the Suros Regime ( which I don't own ) and even then most gamers would rather use a Scout Rifle or a Hand Cannon. I wonder if Bungie will ever come clean and admit that all the auto Rifle Nerfs were a bit too harsh.
-
I use Suros from time to time. If you don't upgrade it and keep the high ROF then it's pretty good in the crucible.
-
I will be, soon, in order to increase my grimoire.
-
I recently started using the Low Down P-IV and it's actually a pretty damn good AR. Used it only in crucible tho. I still bust out my Suros or Hard Light from time to time but I haven't truly given up on AR's. There's still some good ones out there.
-
Sometimes I'll bust out my vanquisher
-
I use Wolfslayers Claw which isn't actually bad
-
Bump yet again.
-
Yes. I drive everyday.

i try too but i cant help but notice how weak they are and i go back to something else. ARs need the stats from the beta again. nerfing a weapon because its popular wtf is wrong with bungie?!?!?!?!?
-
I tried the other day because I got the stupid ass summoner from the lighthouse. Smh I literally wanted any other gun then the summer from that chest.
-
I try, but they just don't hold a candle to pulse rifles (especially ones with full auto).
-
I let go of six wonderfully rolled auto rifles this morning to free up vault space. It sucks to have weapons that should be great, but aren't. Still got my grim citizen and shadow price though.

Edited by zmach1: 6/2/2015 3:45:53 AMLow Down P-IV. Very stable gun. Pest Control Matrix-Reminds me of Shadow Price or Grim Citizen. Hard Light. Fun to use, sounds great, and still mows down low-medium level mobs. I use them mainly on patrol (for variety).
-
I'm gonna upgrade my summoner for the day that they are buffed again
-
I love my up for anything. Such good perks
-
I use autorifles only when I want to get laughed at by my friends
-
The Summoner is definitely a nice change from the recent crud ARs. I'm not sure which I currently like better as a solar legendary, it or the Abyss Defiant.
-
First rule DYHB with focused fire is the best for crucible. Haven't played with it in PvE though.
-
All I use. I do fine in regular crucible with my SUROS. I have never noticed the nerf too too much. I kill thorn users almost as much as they get me so. Sometimes in PVE I feel they're underpowered by hair but thems the breaks. Up For Anything with a 56 round mag was my absolute workhorse for any mode before HoW dropped. so yeah, I love Autos.

I am maxing out Hard Light ATM, after doing Monte Carlo recently so I am all over autos at the moment.
