When will religion finally die out?
Most likely not in my lifetime unless there is a definitive scientific discovery that disproves all gods, and not even theists can deny it. It will happen eventually though, the amount of atheists is climbing, and people are slowly leaving that bullshit behind. Not fast enough though..
It was born out of ignorance, but will die through knowledge.

Jesus Christ fought against religion, but there is a misconception brought on by man, that leads us to believe that believing in Jesus is religious. That he was religious. He was not. Don't believe everything this world teaches you. The Bible is written by man, and so are your textbooks. If I die believing that God was real, and there was no God, then I wasted my life. If you die an unbeliever, and there was a God, then you wasted an eternity.

Religion itself does not need to die out and I highly doubt that it will. What does need to die out are the extremists that give religions their bad reputation. Most religions are founded on admirable beliefs but it is only when people pervert those teachings and we get extremists. So religions can stay but extremists have got to go.

We'll be more and more hated by the world. The "christians" that are slowly leaving are the ones who haven't got the guts to be incorrect politically. The rapture will happen before things get too bad though. could happen in 20 minutes even.

Though I do find it quaint how so many rush to the defence of their given religion and how 'their' religion is the correct one despite the fact that they are merely following the latest iteration of religion we have literally had hundreds of regions with hundreds of gods yet the latest ones are the correct ones. Also I've always found it odd how pretty much everyone even atheist believe that we have a soul. I mean if we do do apes?,cats,dogs,iguanas? If not why? Personally I believe we are a conglemate of cells that function off of bio electricity and when we die we simply stop creating a bio electrical signal causing the body to fail and die.

1 ReplyReligion has been around for centuries, it has caused conflicts and separation among many different groups of people. It had inspired people as well as destroyed people. Their is nothing wrong with believing in a higher power, but I often think the concept of religion is a give and take relationship. If you do not believe what I say and serve me, here are the list of repercussions. Its almost a scare tactic. Religion also can cause close mindedness to a situation, where an open minded person may be able to see both sides of an argument, a religious person may not. Because it's such an emotional concept to people, it may never die. Even if every scrap of our world was to disappear, the next generation will find something to believe in.
