Destiny and its attempt at hard.

EDIT: I have hidden the original post in a spoiler section. Now that Skola's has been changed I retract my post. I think the fight is 100x better now. Challenging yet fun, with teamwork it is rather easy if you are patient and communicate. Much better Bungie.
So this isn't quite a rant post. I just wanted to do this because I haven't seen it typed up else where, and I really hope they don't keep making content this way. So yesterday I spent allllll day doing 35 PoE. Why? Because we wanted to do it the "real" way. Not just melt him in a minute. This lead to hours, and hours, and hours of frustration until finally we just cheesed it by burning him down in a minute. This is not fun, nor is it challenging. Vault of Glass was actually hard, it required Teamwork, and experience. And after you knew how to do it, the challenge slowly lifted. Crota's End wasn't quite the same way. Sure once you got the hang of it and a good strategy it got easier. But their real "challenge" a constant 33% damage reduction. Even that was forgivable. But now PoE comes along. And to be honest, I really like it. Even this weeks 34 was a blast doing the legit way. It took teamwork and once you got the hang of it was nice and smooth. Qodron is really quite easy, there is no need to just burn him down in a minute when its far more rewarding to beat the system in place. Then we get to Skola's. Now I like this fight, I do. The thing I don't like about it is the literally ENDLESS walls of add's. Now with Solar burn on it wasn't the worst. The captains and Skola's were a bit of a threat. But it could have been beating legit (As in not burning him down in 40 seconds) . But this week was not the case. Shank's were 10x more dangerous then Skola's. Captains would 1 hit you with their melee. And a wire rifle would cut you down from across the map in 1 hit. I lost count of how many flawless run's we were having only to be picked off by a random Vandal hidden across the map. Now this may change with different modifiers but that isn't the point of this post. The point is Destiny needs to stop confusing "unbalanced and unfair" to hard. Being at a 33% damage reduction, with a room full of enemies that will 1-2 shot you is just dumb. Its a fun killer, I haven't seen a single video of someone beating this fight legit. Everyone just runs in there and burns him down as fast as they can. This fight is nothing more then a DPS check. The amazing strategy of the reverse chalice, and the mines that force you out of cover is ruined by an army of add's that kill you instantly. Maybe everyone doesn't agree with me, but if this is the trend Destiny plan's on taking for its Endgame PVE it is going to die out very quickly I believe. This just is not fun. Your option's are, kill him right away and avoid the entire fight. Or fail. Even if this wasn't Arc Burn it would be a huge chore to do every single week. TL:DR 33% Damage reduction, against endless add's that can 1 shot you is not challenging, its just broken. Bungie my question is do you really want to keep making Endgame content that people are going to gloss over and find way's around because of your broken mechanics? Or do you want to go back to making interesting, challenging, in depth raids like Vault of Glass. Sure people cheesed VoG, but it wasn't necessary at all. These day's its damn near necessary to just cheese Skola's. (Yes burning right away to avoid his mechanics I consider cheesing) I wanted endgame, not a DPS check. EDIT; Seems to be some confusion. The point of this is not to bash burning him down, when a burn is active obviously that is the best strategy. I am talking about the fight it self being unbalanced. Leave the "I got my weapon's ill use them how I want!" comments to yourself. I can guarantee killing him in 70 seconds is not what Bungie wanted and it will not always happen that way. The fight however WILL still be broken after that time. EDIT 2: Thank you for the feed back both in agreement and disagreement. Just to clarify again this is not about the strategy for burning him, it is not bashing that strategy or hating on people who do it. This article is about Destiny's attempt and making things difficult when really they just make them tedious, or in other words artificial difficulty. This isn't about "being a noob" or "gitting good" or about "cheesing" or anything like that. This is about endgame content in Destiny, which currently has been pretty lackluster and uninteresting. If you are okay with this kind of endgame there is no need to comment here, this is for people who are tired of this sad excuse for end game material.
