here is the domino affect in nerfs and events if you nerf the thorn bungie
1.thorn
2.lw
3. all hand cannons that can be rerolled attentively making them as bad as they were in the beta
4. red death and bad juju; if hand cannons go down the next thing people are ganna be crying about is the pulse rifles
5. all pulse rifle damage reduced
6. half of the player base who plays pve will leave wich is most of your community based on your data that you gave is awhile back
7. scout rifles; no joke if any of this happens scout rifles will become gods and people will wanna nerf them to
8.scouts will get a range nerf wich will destroy them as a weapon
9. and when every other weapon is nerfed it all comes full circle to the auto rifles
if the nerfs start with last word or thorn then they will never end and nerfs are always bad news for pve players wich will probably be most of your player base when destiny 2 comes out because pvp players don't stay long in a new ip there are always other pvp games
just saying
Edit: love how no1 complained about thorn or lw when suros and headlight were op
guarantee if ar were never nerfed all the cry babies would shut up
want a weapon that really takes no skills pick up a handy dandy ar skills not required

THANK YOU. Someone else gets it too. I think they just need to rebuff auto rifles. Then things will be on par worth each other. People will still bitch, but at least autos would have a chance again. OR they should buff guardians health in crucible.

Basically, for months the AR whores had they lay of the land with PvP, which is sad: AR's are a no-skill weapon. Seriously, anyone and their mother could use AR's in PvP and come out on top. The Regime was such an easy weapon to wreck a team with - I got my Mark of the Unbroken using the Regime in Iron banner just trying to get AR headshots when that bounty was active, and I am not a good crucible player at all! I honestly think PvP is much more enjoyable now than at launch - all you had in the Beta, or on Day 1 through the last significant weapons patch was AR's and shotty's running maps. It was stupid. Now we have a much more diverse population using all kinds of weapons, and not just AR's. And the best part is when I do see a Regime user trying to snipe across the map, he is usually outdone by a scout - which is how it should be! Chances are all the nerfbunnies crying about the Thorn and the Last Word were AR spammers who are still butthurt over a patch that reduced the AR damage by - what was it again? 5%? - Seriously, they need to shut up.

Edited by Sergeant: 5/27/2015 9:06:19 PMNo skill required in using Auto Rifles? Staying on target is a skill and it's why i like hand cannons. Making 2-3 headshots is way easier than making 6-10 with a auto rifle.

PvP players need to stop with their nerf cries
-
Bump. People just don't like seeing a certain weapon being over used so they say it needs a nerf. There's a huge difference between wanting it nerfed and removed. Imagine if everyone ran the universal remote. People would cry and say it's OP. Kinda what happened with the ARs.
-
Yes, everything you described here is called change, I recommend getting used to it, Thorn will get nerfed, I promise
-
Let's face it everything is op and should be removed, and replaced with rocks and sling shots.
-
Amen never ending circle of nerf gays

It isn't that Thorns should be Nerfed, it's that Auto's should be un-nerfed. At the moment, all people use in PVP is Thorns, Hawkmoons and Vex's. It wouldn't be so bad if Bungie wasn't constantly Ninja nerfing perks on other guns, like my high caliber rounds on the Monte Carlo seem to do nothing. Bungie needs to hire someone who can actually Balance things without bias.
-
All they need to do is nerf their range and I would be happy. No hand cannon should be able to kill a sniper if they are on the other side of the map.

Edited by LiquidAmnesia: 5/27/2015 7:09:13 PMI don't understand peoples argument that one is bad at the crucible if they get 2 shotted by thorn, tlw, or hawkmoon? These guns outclass just about all other weapon types all ranges except for shot shotguns at close and snipers at max range. The fact that the mida barely has a shot at taking on adept thorn user at mid to long range is ridiculous. Its like saying an m14 can't beat out a revolver from 80ft+.
-
Anyone actually use the Hardlight anymore? I had to break all three of mine down for vault space as I never saw a use for them. Just takes up an exotic space. It was nerfed to death.
-
Nerfing is bad. Bungie has screwed up this game enough by all the nerfing.
-
Exactly, BUMP. The circle has been completed friend

Edited by xXflaw365lessXx: 5/27/2015 6:46:07 PMNerfs are a plague. All they do is continually nerf the best weapons, then the community moves onto the next best weapons. Sometimes nerfs aren't the answer. Take for example auto rifles, they were hit with the nerf bat, who uses them now? Nobody. Nerf thorn, then people will complain about tlw. Then hand cannons as a whole. I think a lot of the nerf threads come from bad crucible players that are god awful at pvp or i'm guessing a lot of the nerf threads are coming from xbone users since they don't have the hawkmoon to balance out the pvp hand cannon options. TL:DR stop nerfing crucible for the casuals. Buff weapons or class of weapons that suck. Stop messing with the current good guns.

2 level 34s fight each other in Trials of Osiris. Thorn literally takes one headshot to put you in critical health, then the poison takes you to about an auto rifle bullet away from death. That's overpowered. Why do you think you'd frequently run into teams where all 3 were using thorn? Because it's the go to weapon to Overpower someone. Thorn simply is OP.
-
I am sick of hearing people wanting to nerf weapons! If you are getting killed by a certain weapon then get that weapon and use it against them, but for the love of go stop nerfing the weapons. Let the cry babies cry or better yet go back to Mario cart.
-
Nope that's not what would happen. They really need to reduce the effective range of HC's, not only for PVP but also for PVE (and I use HC's a lot), because they basically make any other weapon class redundant. They are stronger than AR's at close range, stronger/equally strong than Pulses at medium and almost as strong as Scouts at medium to long range. They should only be rewarding at close to early medium range. Thorn also needs a slight nerf. I'd just take away the stability perk. That should make it harder to wield.
-
I just think burning mechanic on thorn needs altering, but the main weapon underneath needs no change at all.
-
Here's the reality Thorn is OP in Crucible and legit takes pretty much no skill to use. For most it's a crutch weapon they know can pull their weight since they most likely have no talent with anything else. TLW hip-fire bonus damage is glitched out, most people know this and it procs even when people ADS, this making it very lethal. No one with half a brain should ever ask for a pulse rifle nerf. They are lethal weapons and take skill, more than the latter two weapons I mentioned. Getting 6 bullets to the head (or two bursting) someone is a lot trickier to do CONSISTENTLY than just landing two bullets to the head. Hence why more people are using theses two hand cannons still over pulse rifles by on large. They need to be nerfed in PvP, that's the reality, no one is asking them to be nerfed in PvE. Hell they probably should buff TLW in PvE since Thorn and Hawkmoon are much more effective in PvE. So again they should be nerfed in PvP but left alone or buff whatever in PvE.
-
love how no1 complained about thorn or lw when suros and headlight were op
Because they also buffed Thorn since then, and TLW if I remember the patches correctly.
-
Rofl thorn 2 shots everyone. It's not slightly op, it way OP. It's ridiculous because crucible is just thorn and tlw. This is worse when cod aw launched with the bal 27
-
Edited by Muddlin Through: 5/27/2015 5:14:44 PMNot arguing with the OP! But there is a difference between balancing and nerfing. Balancing needs to be done when one weapon becomes the "only option"*. That being said, any such balancing should be small and incremental. Now, giving credit where it is due, Bungie did a good job of elevating scout and pulse rifles, and the de-powering of fusion rifles. However, they not only Nerfed AR's, but wrapped them in bubble wrap and covered them in safety warning labels. I do not want this done to Thorn or Gjallarhorn. But, some small adjustment is in order. Why not raise the power of other weapons instead of "nerfing"? This would involve changing dozens of weapons of different classes and types. By sheer numbers, this would have a greater chance to do more harm (making other weapons overpowered). But, again, great care needs to be done with any balancing. * Look at the number of teams running "Thorn only" in ToO and invites to Raid requiring Gjallarhorn.

Quick question ....you have a thorn
-
You are so stupid if you think that'll be how it will go
