Can someone explain the mechanics of the Skolas fight?

I fought Skolas last week with a team that did the Gjallarhorn strategy and they never explained the mechanics or anything, so can someone explain what the Draining Essence and Servitor's Bonds are and all that?

  • First take out the servitor bond on the left side then he will be vulnerable shoot your galleys there then once it says the servitor bonds have been broken it starts the next phase if not keep looking for the servitor bonds once the second phase starts he will poison someone with the debuff then you have to keep passing it around between each other Probally take it around 4 seconds while defusing mines and shooting skolas while rotating around the arena

    • There are servitude that spawn continuously on either corner of the map. Killing one will cause a 20 second time period to where you may damage Skolas. Once you get Skolas down to 2/3 health, it will say the servitude bonds are broken. Once this occurred, you may damage Skolas freely without the 20 second buff. Although he will start tainting a guardians light at this point. Once he taints the light, one guardian will get a 30 sec timer on his screen and his HUD will turn green. Once this timer has run to zero, the guardian will die. Although, another guardian can pick up the tainted light as if it where the chalice of light and this resets the timer but the tainted light will now be on the new guardian only. He old guardian will now have a timer of 35 seconds before he can take the tainted light off of another guardian. The only way through this is to have a preset order in witch your three guardians will switch off the tainted light. Also note that if the guardian does from the tainted light, there will be a 5 second delay between the next guardian who's light will be tainted again. The tainted light will last through the entire fight until Skolas dies. Once Skolas is at 1/2 health. A critical mine defusing objective will start. I would suggest using a hunter to go invis and get the mines by himself while timing the switch off for the tainted light. Once Skolas is at 1/4 health. He will spawn another mine objective. (Note: if his health is taken down far enough before the first mine wave is complete, the 2nd mine wave will not spawn untill 10 seconds after the first wave is complete) The mines have to be destroyed no matter what. Even if Skolas dies before they are defused, the mines will still go off if not defused in time and you will wipe. He adds will not spawn untill 60 seconds into the fight and all adds will de spawn right when Skolas dies making it easy to defuse any remains mines. That's pretty much it.

    • Run all the way left, kill the servitor, pop a bubble, shoot 30 Gallys, done.

    • During his first 50% health you have to take out the servitors to damage him. Below 50 he takes all damage. Under 25% health he starts spawning defuse mines and gives a debuff to a random player that will cause you to die in 30 seconds. This has to be passed if you don't kill him within those 30 seconds. I believe he starts spawning more adds at 25% health also.

    • You dont need to know the mechanics, all you really need to know is that you walk in there and youre pretty much gonna get -blam!- no matter what you do lol.
