Is just as bad as saying that the U.S won it single handedly.
Im not saying that American involvement was the only reason the allies won but i also cant say that the allies would have won if the Americans stayed out of the war.
The allies won due to a bunch of reasons, some big and some small and U.S. and russian involvement are big reasons.
You got to remember that due to American involvement the germans had to fight on multiple fronts, Western Europe, italy, Africa, and russia all while being bombed around the clock(in the day by the Americans and at night by the british) which severely hampered their production capabilities and moral.
Can you honestly say that the British and canadians could have single handedly launched the normandy or Italian invasions? Thus forcing the germans to fight in both of those places while fighting the russians in the east?
Again this doesn't mean that the U.S. Was the only or even the #1 reason the allies won the war but i am saying that if America hadn't joined the war, the allies probably wouldn't have won.

US have major involvement in WW2, just not as big as some like to claim. However in WW1, US involvement had zero impact on the war.

Germany lost because of stupid mistakes; ie the eastern front, spending tons of money on relativley ineffective V Weapons, using half the SS to run death camps rather than securing the frontlines. The US played a major part, but germany wouldve stomped it if not for hitler's obsession with ideology rather than winning the war. Japan spread itself thin across the pacific making it easy to steamroll after midway.

Does a European hate the U.S.? Ask them "Guetantuga sprekenze the duotch? Nine? Well that cause of the U.S.

I generally credit the Soviets with winning the European theater (though I don't entirely discount the Allied involvement; it put the icing on what turned out to be a delicious cake) and the US with winning the Pacific theater.
very broad and glosses over incredible complexity and detail. Exactly the way I like it to be.

kidding I like complex situations
Actually, the Americans played a massive part and were one of the reasons Germany lost. The Germans could not keep up with the production rate of war material in the US.
-
Well we did Nuke japan Twice
-
The British wouldn't have done much without American troops. The Soviets on the other hand...

Guys, it's been 70 years...At this point I couldn't even care less if the war was won by pirates and ninjas.

Well Roosevelt was secretly funding the Brits behind congress' back before the U.S. officially joined the war so without our supplies pretty sure they would've crumpled like France. England just paid off that debt in the last decade I think.
-
Agreed, without us they wouldn't have won the war but if it was just us we would've lost. Nice teamwork guys!
-
We did win it single-handedly
-
Japan would've -blam!-ed shit up if America hadn't joined the fight lol

to be fair, the Russians did a lot of the work. if the -godwinslaw!--Soviet pact had worked out, we would have faced the combined might of Germany AND Russia, and things could have ended very differently. the Russians also suffered the most casualties on the Eastern Front, and were the ones who REALLY brought the fight to the Naz1s doorstep. the fact is, we ALL worked together to defeat an Evil power. it was a team effort. if you've ever played Wolfenstein; The New Order, you may have seen what the world would look like if the Naz1s had won. scary stuff.

Big deal.
-
We won it single handedly. Let's face it, Britain and Russia were useless
-
Microwave it
-
The weapons and supplies alone helped immensely

Edited by Ian: 5/26/2015 1:36:56 PMWhy can't we honor every ally live lost fighting in WWII? The US lost a half a million people because of a European war.
