A group Guardians were scouring through the charred remains of what used to be a settlement. “What in the name of the Traveler’s Light happened here?” a Hunter, whose name was Fox, asked. A Warlock was inspecting the nearly incinerated timbers of what used to be a house. “I sense a power, that I have not felt in some time… but also something familiar” he said mysteriously. “Send word to the Tower of our findings, and to bring a Ghost” he told the Hunter as he revealed a small, burnt skeleton. Nearly twelve years had past since the cryptic attacks had occurred. There had been none since. However, this was all going to change. Destiny, it has its ways, you see? A 17 year-old Guardian named Alina was sleeping, and as people sometimes do, dreaming. Dreaming terrible, terrible dreams. She kept seeing fire, and death, and the same taunt whispered over and over. “Burn, oh bearer mine, burn. Burn, oh bearer mine, burn. BURN, OH BEARER MINE, BURN”. This had happened every night since she had completed her apprenticeship and mastered the Warlock arcane. She needed answers, and one man had them. The one who taught her the Warlock arcane in the first place, the Tower Cryptarch, who went by the name of Wallen. Not only was Wallen one of the most skilled Cryptarch’s the Tower had ever seen, but also one of the most infamous Guardians in the Crucible and in the field. He also led multiple strikes against the Ahamkara during the Great Ahamkara Hunts. In the morning, she went to him, and told him of her plight. He said nothing. Then after a short time spoke. “I’ve been waiting for the day that I would have to explain this to you, Alina”. “Explain what, sir?” she asked. “How you came to be of course. When you were young, you, and your parents, were killed by a mysterious force. A mysterious force indeed. And now, it seems that you and this force are intertwined in some fashion. How, even I cannot answer”. Stunned, Alina sat in silence for some time. “How do I stop these dreams” she asked. “You must destroy the source” he stated. ----------------------------- Hey all, Peeps here. Hope you enjoyed.
