We ran the first 4 of the Queens Reef public events this afternoon. Here's what we learned so far. [u][b]Summary Process:[/b][/u] Go to Tower > "Petra Venj" > grab bounties > read bounties > hunt VIPs > hunt treasure > Return to Tower > Return to "Petra Venj" for Rank/rewards [u][b]Details:[/b][/u] "Petra Venj" is the Queen's Emissary NPC. She is the same NPC from the first Queen's Wrath events and she's back. Here for more and a photo: http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Petra_Venj She's located in the far back of the [b]Tower[/b]. Act like you are heading to Iron Banner, but keep going all the way back. Each of the VIP public events spawn in on a timer, around 10 minutes if you fail. They do not appear to conflict with the public events in the zone for the location. We had some appear at the same time for the area and back to back Queen with Location Pub event. They bounties she has available seem to be locked by Day and progress for the week, so Tuesday is Bounty 1, Wed bounty 2, etc... Since its Fri, you can grab bounties 1-4 (tues -Fri = 1-4). Note, these are not QUESTS like they used to be, they do take up BOUNTY slots. The bounties denote where you are supposed to go (more later.) You'll find a VIP target to hunt in each location. In some of the locations, you'll get a SCORCH CANNON to drop with a nice big Relic Star indicating the event is starting too. In our cases, we only seen 2 of these ever drop in the same locations. These proved decent at wrecking low level mobs, and not so good at the bosses - even when charging up... VIP targets have HUGE shields and tons of health. The more guardians in the area, the better. Ghorn is your friend, same with thunderlord... use steady arc to take down the sheild, use the GHORN to burn him down, use whatever you have left to finish him off... and yeah, you might have to burn an ammo cake. Once you down the VIP, you get a notification and you are on a 1.5 min timer... that's it... 90 seconds... start looking for a yellow / golden chest to spawn. it will be in the immediate vacinity. In our case, it was always a SUPER CHEST of old (multiple blue engrams, stack of materials, glimmer and stack of synths kind of chest) [b][u]Process Detail[/b][/u] 1. Go to Tower 2. Talk to "Petra Venj" in back behind Iron Banner Location 3. Grab bounties 4. Read bounties to figure out where to go (location) 5. Hunt & kill VIP 6. Hunt for the treasure (you have 1.5 minutes i.e. 90 sec) after killing VIP 7. Open treasure / get loot 8. Return to Tower 9. Talk to "Petra Venj" to turn in Bounty for Rank/rewards [i][b]Update[/b] 1. Per [b]Dyliotic[/b] and others below, it seems reports are coming in of folks receiving Prison of Elders treasure room keys in some of these Queens bounty chests - taking super chests to a whole new level!![/i] [b]confirmed! [/b] 2. Per [b]noobaru[/b] below, he received a Legendary from one of the chests, and cannot decrypt (matching BNG notes) [b]confirmed! [/b] 3. Per [b]MadScissorhands[/b] "Hugely important note, you can get the chest multiple times if you leave the area and come back while the buff is still active. The best place to do this is Skywatch as the distance to another area is short. I was able to get the chest 4 times there." [b]confirmed! [/b] 6. Update - after 6+ hours, I pjcked up 3 "Teeasure Keys - used for Queens Crystal Barrows under prison of elders" on my warlock and 2 more on my titan. We were doing the double / triple and sometimes quad pulls on chests all night. 7. [B]Valuable tip [/b] venus proves to be great spot - farming both vip chest drops multiple times, however - FORM a Vault of Glass Fireteam - but dont launch VOG - go do your queen bounties as a 6-man team! *profit!* 8. Grimiore entry received after completing all 6 days 9. Moon, Anchor of Light bounty opened up around noon PDT Sat... ship always seens to show up to left passage if standing on top of large rotunda room building. Moon, Archer's Line, again bounty opened around noon PDT. Ship appeared to left upon entry from orbit by main structure. Sheilded VIP ultras can take several lev 32 fully leveled Ghorns with shields down. Petra Venj NPC does have shaders / emblems for sale when you hit Rank 2+ for doing bounties BNG notes to save Legendaries earned from Queen's Wrath, as the Cryptarch doesn't get it - and they will be HoW Legendaries - should you be so lucky! Looks like you can rerun the same Public Events you've already done, and still get the chests over and over, even if you've already done the bounties (not sure how long they will let us do that!) If you been edging faction rank waiting for it to roll over - queens bounties [b]*may*[/b] give you more rank. Check your mark equipped and test / gauge accordingly. I've gotten mixed feedback.
