When a Fireteam Member dies in real life.

First off, let me say this is not a boo hoo "I deserve Fate of All Fools" because tragedy, type post. This isn't a fictitious or satire post either, but I will write it as if it is a story, because in a way, it is. This is to tell the story of a friend made and lost whom I otherwise may not have know. I picked up my copy of destiny week two of the game coming out and Immediately fell In love. I had a friend and former roommate who had a copy and together we traveled through the solar system fighting the Darkness. He was an Awoken Praxic Warlock and I, a thunder wielding Human Titan. Some time around the Queens Wrath Event we were patrolling the moon when we noticed we were being stalked by a mysterious Hunter. As we delved into the depths of the Hellmouth, in the shadows he followed. When we cracked the worlds grave, he was there in the dark behind us. My Warlock companion took a chance and invited him to our fireteam. He joined us, and we immediately became friends. His name was Kyle and he was an EXO Hunter, between the three of us we had all of the races and classes of Destiny and we took this as a sign. We would play together for hours, (as many Guardains do) and over time grew to share some of the details of our lives. We discovered that we actually lived near each other and made plans to hang out at some point. This was in the early days of Destiny and we spent hours upon hours every day in the Game. Kyle was charismatic and friendly to a fault. He told us we were the first friends he had made on the Game and we were proud of that. We certainly weren't the last however. Kyle made friends and drew people together as easily as breathing and it wasn't long before we had cracked the Vault of Glass with a few friends he had picked up along the way. Eventually we got to meet in person and were surprised to see that Kyle was a bear of a man. I joked that he should have been a Titan and not a Hunter. Every day my friend and I would log in with Kyle and together we would face whatever perils the Darkness threw at us. We tackled Nightfalls with ease before the cheeses had been found, we spent hours in patrol just having fun and trying to push the limits of our Sparrows. It was a great time and I often found myself looking forward to coming home and entering this digital world I shared with my friends. Kyle's charm and humor made our friend's list grow and grow, but the three of us were always the closest. One day in December Kyle told us he was getting married. We were some of the first people in his life that he told. Some time after the New Year my friend and I had burnt ourselves out on Destiny, Kyle had too and we drifted apart somewhat. We would still text and catch up when we could but we no longer spent hours every day playing in game. In march I texted Kyle one day and we spent a little time catching up. We made plans to get a few of our friends and get pizza some time in the following week. That was on a Saturday. He died the following Monday. My last words to him were, "I'll fill you in later," and It still makes me sad just thinking of that. He was in a construction accident and his wife messaged everyone in his friends list the terrible news. I'm not writing this for any pity and If you decide to leave hateful comments I just feel sorry for you. I am writing this to share a story of an amazing friend who made a great game even better and to thank Bungie for bringing such a good person into so many peoples lives. Without this game I never would have made such a great friend and while it pains me that he is gone, I feel blessed for the time that I had to know him. I would love for Bungie to see this and maybe do something for a friend who touched so many people. I don't know if it is possible, but many of us have expressed a wish to petition Bungie to turn his in game character into an NPC at the tower. I have left out his Gamertag so trolls dont message his wife but if I am ever contacted by Bungie I will provide further details. Edit: Thank you for your replies. I am going to add a short story to this post soon as a fictionalized narration of the battles we fought with Kyle.

I would agree that such an aggregious( sp ) loss should merit some recognition. However, I am sure there are many similar stories and it would be a huge undertaking to NPC all of those characters in game. I would however, in a hot minute, petition for a memorial plaque in the tower for lost and fallen Guardians. Kinda like the Wall in Arlington, Va. If it has not been said enough, I feel for your loss. My sincerest condolences.
