HoW DLC not very good
now that the dlc has been released and the day one hype has died down for me. I've taken a look at what was done. If you guys have noticed Bungie has removed the interval leveling of weapons and gear and has left only the perks of each piece of gear. The year one way of leveling weapons/gear was ok aside the fact of only being able to acquire rad. shards/energy from raids. But still although that was the only way of acquiring the item you still had put in work in the game to get specific pieces leveled. Now, with wolves dlc, all of that has been removed for a one stop shop item. Only interval leveling left is on the exotics, the newly acquired legendaries are either gonna be 331 or w/ etheric light 365. Leaving you to only have to work for perks and ONE item to ascend gear. For any true MMO players, you see that this was nerf of the game for the people who dont like to work for the gear they want to own. I give this DLC ONE month before players are tired of it because the thought process put into it was very minimal and lazy, sorry but not sorry. You want to make an MMO game put some DEPTH into the game this has by been the worse MMO I've played thats in its 2nd yr and still has grasped the whole DEPTH OF CONTENT factor. The whole point of an MMO is to work for what you want in the game, not to silver spoon it because of those who dont wont to put in the work and effort. Think about it, what kinda depth is there really if you can reach 34 w/n a day or two's time? Repeat/rinse that whole PoE event all day long. Why is the Kell's gear a blatant Light +42, thats not working to get to 34, you're giving away levels piece by piece now, very idiotic move. i thought the gear would be Light +36/42 and u have to work to get 42, NOT GIVE US 42 w/ NO WORK INVOLVED. I thought this game was suppose to be a MMO Shooter RPG but you guys really took a turn for the worst here. You have some lazy creative designers, its funny that you took the old crucible gear and turned it into faction gear. No serious thought whatsoever was put into this dlc. It's funny to me, that you can't come up with more than 5 outfits. But hey, you have our money now, really isn't anything we can do except not buy anything else made by you guys. All i play are MMO RPG's, so i have plenty of insight and knowledge of how they work. I give this DLC a "C" at best. Thanks for reading...And yes there are some typos for the grammar critics

You do realize many people who play this game that enjoy it do not have the luxury to spend hours leveling gear. What they did was help casual players enjoy this game by cutting down the grind. If you want to spend hours leveling gear or raiding go back to WoW and Diablo man.

If you are a true MMO player u wouldn't compare this game to other MMOs destiny is a joke to the MMO title.

If bungie wants to make their own kind of game, LET THEM. It's their company, their choice. Tell me... If you painted a beautiful painting that took you YEARS to paint, wouldn't you feel bad if people called it "lame" and said it took "a turn for the worst." That would stink, wouldn't it? TLDR But I did see you says you play MMO RPGs so you have insight. While Destiny may seem like a game to orbit that genre it is completely different and on its own from any of those game type experiences. I played Destiny for 1200 hours then quit after TDB. Came back for HoW and I can say I am loving it. The best parts are trying to play 100% legit. No treasure key cheat farming and such. Most rewarding part so far has been hashing out clearing and killing level 34 PoE runs. Truly chaotic and amazing.

It goes hand in hand with being able to re-roll weapons. That way you can try out the perks sooner and find out what you like or don't like, letting you customize your setup. Frankly, it doesn't make that much of a difference to someone like me who plays enough Crucible to turn in multiple bounties daily, but it helps people who can't play as often. I'm cool with that. I want better cooperative play and stiffer competition in Crucible, not the ability to lord myself over people without as much time to sink into the game.

The problem with your rant is you're calling this an MMO and although you may associate this game with that, they however don't. This game is kind of a mix of different formats so it's a new frontier at trying something different. The minute you can stop associating and comparing Destiny to your typical MMO's, then maybe you can enjoy and appreciate what Destiny is and what it has become. It's an ever evolving game and community. Destiny is NOT an MMO!

1 ReplyEdited by xitsJSTNx: 5/21/2015 9:01:19 AMthis amazes me to see how many people complain, but when u spec them, they only have upgraded VoG/Crota gear and 331 weapons. majority of these people have not re-rolled their stuff yet complain about leveling to 34. yes it is easy to hit 34 but upgrading shit VoG gear when the perks on new gear is 6x better. (if u have actually looked feel free to make a statement if not stfu u have no idea lol) Hunter gloves that although take away ur golden gun bullets give 6x the damage. Unless your full HoW gear i cant see how reading the first page of a book you can judge the entire story. Edit- and looking at their Prison of Elders stats have not even touched 34 or 35. this is absurd, you guys complain its to hard to grind from 30-32 because you need like 90 shards and lucky to get 15+/week but now its to easy to level when u have yet to see your gear in action. although at 33 im running lvl 34 PoE in 25min to hit the boss and 8-15min to finish boss most people are still doing the 28/32 little own the 35.....

well this is deff not an MMO no matter how much you think it is. as i can not see how Massive Multiplayer Online is 16 players... not very massive. how ever, i agree its bs that there is no work involved in getter 42 gear, now crota is pointless unless u want weapons. VoG isnt as useless as its gear is ALOT mroe useful that crota gear as crota gear has to many perks for just crota raid. 5 outfits isnt bad since u dont have full set of any of them other than the pretty muhc free gloves. you have no good HoW weapons, you barley touched PoE and u have not seen ToO. so you jump to a conlcusion based on less than 48 hours of release. you jumped on the hate boat so fast go take your game back plz. crazy how i have a few more deaths and 10x your PoE kills and ive ran it 3 times on the 28/32/34 (no 35 im only 33) so until you can solo 35 PoE stfu and enjoy the game. thank you <3

Unbelievable, while your entitled to your opinion, this is unreal. This is not an mmo, it is an fps with elements of an mmo. Levels mean nothing in this game, unlike a traditional mmo, where each level raises your power significantly. All level allows you to have is a means to a greater challenge or unlock. That's my bit on levels. Shards were a system which the majority of the community hated, the grind from 30 to 32 was a slower journey because the game cut you off each week after a raid. Some found workarounds by deleting characters and starting up again, eventually getting a 32. What the new system allows is for you to focus on getting one item instead of 21 shards for each piece of equipment. A system that the majority asked for. Horde mode aka Prison of Elders, was asked for and recieved. Bottom line, I respect your opinion, but have to disagree. Your hard core players will always find a way to rush through the content while your casual crowd will take time to get through it.
