Endless Disconnects

Dear Bungie, With the release of all the patches/DLC and the flood of returning/new players, a majority of us expected the servers to be struggling a little bit and having small issues. That was completely understandable, however we have long since passed this point and many of us are still unable to play. We know you are trying your best to help all of us out, but clearly your networking guide is not helping us at all. Please provide us with something more then the guide, whether is a "wait patiently" or a "try this next" or even a "We will take care of it", just something new would be appreciated. For me in particular, I have received almost every error on the help page. From fruits to animals, I have seen them all. Primarily Baboon and Weasel. I even see the odd and completely out of place "Kingfisher" after hours of attempted connects. Whenever I manage to get on for a few minutes, down in the bottom right corner I see "Contacting Destiny Servers" and am kicked from any worlds or even the game moments later. Now, I have noticed this issues seems extremely isolated, speaking that all my friends are laughing and playing the DLC together with out me, (Which only makes it worse) so brownie points for that, however there are still many of us in misery. I have tried everything that I have found online and even tried random things I have come up with, (This is including your networking guide) and nothing seems to work. SOS! Save Our Sunsingers! (My primary class) and help us out! I am desperate to enjoy your hard work and I know many agree. Don't let all the time and effort you put into House of Wolves be wasted simply because of strange network errors! Thanks for an amazing game and an awesome community, Love, -Guardian

    It may be dumb luck but I was able to play all night tonight for the first time since poe came out. Once I downloaded the psn update that came out today I was only disconnected twice. I may owe you an apology bungie. It may have been a PlayStation issue not yours.

      • Hey there, If you have gone through the guided Network Troubleshooting tips already, have you tried altering your current networking setup from WiFi to wired or vice versa? Also, the following steps can assist with isolating any potential networking issues: Turn off and unplug all networking devices other than your modem. Your network setup should be ONLY [Internet -> Modem -> Console] and any WiFi functionality for your modem should be turned off. Plug your console directly into the modem Ensure no other devices are plugged into the modem

        • Round 4 prison of elders.... Beetle! Since the launch I've been able to actually finish it only once. But, according to you it's all my fault for living in a western country with high speed Internet and all ports forwarded. It couldn't possibly be Bungies own fault now can it?

        • This is a real problem. I knew it was worst today when I couldn't find a fireteam for vanguard. Going to take on the Archeon Priest solo was not happening. It's bungie's servers and not our internet. I didn't have a problem until the past few days and now I just don't play. Do you know what it's like to run vanguard for 2 hours and only get 6 marks and have to quit the others. [spoiler]you know it's messed up when your fireteam is jumping into the wall and enemies you kill actually regain health. [/spoiler] I'm just so fed up with this that I almost want my money back and move on. If the game requires internet to play it, Bungie should invest in offering rewards since it's hard enough to get treasure keys. I paid for this game and I haven't been able to play it this week.

          • Getting pretty -blam!-ing sick of getting booted every 10 min. If it's not an error code it just randomly boots me and Says I have left my fireteam....I'M THE ONLY ONE IN THE -blam!-ING FIRETEAM BITCH! ...K..rage over. Hope you guys have better luck.

          • Trying to do the Queens wrath missions, can't even get to the citadel without being disconnected. Everytime I enter patrol I can only move through 2 zones without getting hawks and caterpillars.

          • I have gotten beetle, cloudberry, canary and weasel in the past few hours. My internet works just fine. I think I'm done. The new content is underwhelming to say the least.

          • I wish someone would start up a class-action lawsuit. Sting 'em like what happened with Sony. Sony even tried their asses off to fix it quick, and even GAVE AWAY FREE STUFF TO EVERY PSN ACCOUNT, and still got -blam!-ing sued. Why isn't this already in the works for these assholes at Bungie? /:

            I have already stopped playing. For me, it started with the server-side patch prior to update 1.2.0. A lot of people reported the same issue at this time too and it has continued to keep growing. It is straight SICKENING that you see so many complaints of the same thing and only ONE bungie reply on the first page of the networking forum and one reply through this entire thread of some 100 replies. There is one common denominator here Bungie, that is YOU! I will periodically check back for you to admit that it is on your servers or that there is a new update/hotfix and I will reattempt then. And before you even bother saying it is my network, it is not. I have gone through every route possible and when I do not have any troubles on other games, problem is isolated to you. So, it doesn't take a "Fine Mind" to figure that one out.
