Thorn, the Hawkmoon Killer
Hawkmoon: Chance to crit 120+, otherwise 3 shot kill (Exception of the 1 hit kill which is very rare)
Thorn: Always does 100+ crit (adding DoT dmg), guaranteed 2 crit shot kill, lingering damage which negates shield regen and shows enemy location, faster fire rate
Overall thorn is superior in every way, there isn't much to argue.
I dismantled mine last night actually, it just feels too wrong using it imo.
If I come across a full fire team of thorn, then yeah I'll take a deep breath and know to expect an annoying match.
Come across a full fire team of Hawkmoons, Last words, or Mythoclasts? I got no problem with it

I ask yall, what would be a reasonable balance for Thorn?
Only way I see it is reducing the DoT damage, it HAS to have some type of DoT since that is what makes it Exotic.

3 RepliesNot being antagonistic here... but i dont see a whole lot of people able to get those 2 head shots and leave someone to die with thorn. Everyone has one in crucible... but most I've seen are three shots to kill. I know thorn has the 2 shot kill capability... but I just dont see it. Hawkmoon on the other hand can kill in two shots body or not, depending on your luck. Honestly I prefer tlw. But mostly because I suck at pvp and need the speed to help my crap aim. :)

You realize if you hit someone in the head too fast it's not a 2 shot Crit because the first set of dot didn't do enough damage

1 ReplyThey're going to patch Thorn eventually. They did it with suros when everyone used it so they'll probably slow the fire rate or kick up the recoil. Who knows but it is inevitable as nearly everyone uses it.
