Useless class items

About class items really beside of making your guardian look cool... what are they for??. I believe the should add buff to the class items to make the more relevant. For example 10% bonus to damage, armor or recovery. This can actually make the game better especially with the new arena game mode. Edit: Bonus glimmer for vex, fallen.... Bonus time for ward of dawn extra 5 or 10 sec The possibilities of what can they do with this are limitless. It makes the most since because its part of the armor and there's no rpg style game out there that an armor piece doesn't have any stats. Come on Deej make it happen!!!!!!

      I'm not OK with damage buffs, armor buffs, buffs to supers, or stuff like that. Class items should really be used for minor things that may provide a use. I would suggest perks such as. Increased glimmer from (insert enemy type here) increased XP gain for (insert weapon type) Increased mark gain from activities wearing this item increases amount of marks that can be carried. Exotic faction items can provide a reputation gain bonus of 25% stacks with nightfall rep bonus. That would really power level some factions. Clearly these would be very sought after. This would be a great way to introduce exotic class items. These little perks would make them useful and collectible.

      • They should be given PVE ONLY buffs. And it would be cool if the class items buff depends on the vendor you get it too. With the exception from the class Items from iron banner and crucible buff things like endgame drop rates or reputation bonuses. Maybe the vanguard ones increase weapon ammo while on strikes/patrols. The ones from the queen deal bonus damage to all the fallen bounty enemies. Variks class items give glimmer when killing fallen. Special cloaks like the raids or prison of elders give damage buffs while doing its specific area.

        Bonus glimmer from Hive enemies for the Crota's End Class items, Bonus glimmer from Vex by Vault of Glass Class items. Bonus glimmer from Fallen by PoE class items possibly. Not sure about how to do this for Cabal..

      • Agree with what I'm seeing. Make them work just like the consumables for the specific race if you have a glimmer one. It's already so easy to get one of the items to increase glimmer gain so it's not like it'll change much. Just make them not stack. I however do not want them to effect your class like for extra ward of dawn or anything.

      • Great idea but id rather them add sockets to all the class items and be able to add a +stat item into it. Dont want to wear rupaul's curtains on my belt just for a stat bump. Xur could sell the stat item maybe?

        • The most annoying thing is finding a legendary engram and it's a class item. Which as you've said does nothing. They're one of the worst drops from the loot system

        • I think the faction specific ones should give buffs and debuffs based on faction philosophy. For example, future war cult could give you a discipline increase or you fireteam does more damage at the expense of reload speed. Something like that. It will give each faction a stronger flavor and identity rather than a series of talking voices.

            They'd just be another piece of gear then. They're cosmetic items. Except in the case of the faction items which acts more a kind of banner for your faction. I choose my gear for the stats and talents. I like having that 5th slot that I choose solely for the style. Maybe the exotic class items are what you're looking for. I don't know how they work, but if I was a betting man, I'd predict they probably take up your allotted exotic slot (so you can't wear an exotic helm, chest, gloves or boots). But to balance that out, they have some sort of talent or statistics to make it worthwhile. I could be wrong though.

                • They should give special points to discipline, strength, inteligence like a percent increase, make them super rare. Enough to be beneficial but not enough to be op, and the exotics ones have percent based abilites like 10% resistance to void damage, or if struck with status effects like thorns poison, grenade burn or new house of wolves stricken burn it will not kill u but bring u to one point.

                    They should have an effect, but a very small one, so you could still wear whatever you want, and to avoid scenarios like "lol u dont have VoG cloak and its the best for hunters *removed from fireteam*"

                  • I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if I had a choice for what class items could do, I'd like them to have a skill from one or the other class trees so we could expand how we play. I'm imagining having burning angel (float in air while ADS) as well as two grenades or something of that nature. Triple jump plus new exotic boots for quadruple jump invis melee and melee cooldown reduction. That would be awesome. (If quad jump is possible how many hunters do you think will kill themselves trying to use it? Lol)

                    Buffs of sorts would of been a cool addition. Say warlock eagle bond gives a 10% in agility etc
