Quick question about factions
Should I level up all 3 factions one for each character or just level up dead orbit on all my characters since I want there gear the most(shaders and ship). What would you guys do if you where me.

Opens up the possibilities to a broader choice of armour and weapons, instead of just Crucible, Vanguaard, and your main choice of Faction. All in all, it's a wiser choice to do so, just incase you fancy something someday and come to realize you're not a high enough rank. It's so easy to get to Rank 3 anyways. Do a Nightfall and a Weekly Heroic, as well as about two hours worth of Patrol missions.

I level one on each character. I'm not really in leveling them, though - i rather use IB class items
