Twitch reveals, HoW changes, obligatory Gally mention, and my take on Destiny's future...

Let me preface this post by saying I never intended to "leave" Destiny. I paid for my season pass, I am sad there will not be a raid, however I am interested to see this new take on "end-game" content. I had always planned to pick Destiny back up when HoW was released, but only because I had paid for the content already. I haven't played since mid march, after playing daily since release. I have full raid gear for both raids with all 3 classes, along with every exotic. I did my best to help anyone I could both with cheese and vanilla playthroughs, so I do not consider myself an "elitist" 32. Now that I have stated my position, hopefully I will mitigate some of the knee-jerk negative responses. As details of HoW were slowly leaked out, as well as official release info, I grew more and more disappointed. •No raid? That was what kept me coming back every Tuesday, trying to get all of the weapons and armor, maximizing each piece of gear and keeping all of them for every situation imaginable. Prison of Elders seemed akin to firefight/zombies/survival/horde mode to the point of frustration, however the twitch reveals have given me new hope. •The constant nerf and buff of different weapon types was unwelcome, but not game breaking. Forcing me to change the way I play is frustrating, insofar as players have "perfected" ways of playing, habits and patterns that will help them win. Then "big brother" comes in and changes all of the rules. It's annoying, but not enough to make me put down a game I spent almost 90 bucks on, and hundreds of hours of gameplay. •Crucible has never been my main focus for Destiny, I find PvE to be far more enjoyable than PvP. I'll get as frustrated as anyone when I get tagged by a felwinter or a morgue from what feels like sniper distance, however, I do not play crucible apart from exotic bounties and iron banner so I allow that much to fall to lack of experience...(though my fusion rifle spray has gotten noticeably wider than I would like...haha) the changes to crucible seem justified from an outside perspective, so I cannot comment too much on them. Trials of Osiris will probably change all this for me, as of now that seems to be my new end-game goal. No matchmaking will be frustrating, as I have built my friends in game around a PvE based experience...but LFG has also taken on its own life through this game. •What makes me the most frustrated, and will probably keep me from this game again not too long after HoW releases, is the toxic nature this community has adopted. Almost every post on the forums relates to illegitimate complaining, entitlement due to meager playtimes, or belittling a portion of the community due to a different playstyle/RNG luck. I remember the old bnet forums that were overflowing with support, whether it be forming a team for a player hosted zombies/tower of power/glitching party, or simple playthrough assistance, you didn't have to look far to find helpful, supportive people. I wish that for these forums, and though this community is much larger, with a far greater division of players, I hope than can be our future. •TLDR Bungie has worked to heed our every request, however this is a massive structure, that is running 24/7, across the globe. Even when these changes do come, not everyone can be pleased. Not everyone wants the same game. If we spent the same time working together to find a way to adjust our gameplay, as opposed to villifying Deej (who, BTW is not doing the programming, who is not the only set of eyes reading these forums/tweets, who is not implimenting changes that are decided by another group aside from Deej) imagine the progress this game could make. These twitch reveals have gotten me excited all over again about playing destiny, the multiple ways to max level, the different armor, the new take on endgame content, the upgrade paths for old weapons (365 FATEBRINGER!!!!). I am excited again, and this community is making it hard for me to feel that way. EDIT: So far in the comments...I'm finding that these forums don't seem to be the main "community," which makes me happy. I've only loosely dealt with Twitch/YouTube/Reddit portions of this community. I had previously thought them to be smaller, goal specific portions of the players. I'm happy to say I'm being shown that is where the good community resides.

 • No gaming community will ever be toxic free, there will always be those that disagree with how something is being done or why. And no amount of moderation can ever stop it either. No company can ever keep all players happy all the time, nor will they ever try to either. For it is a loosing battle that cannot ever be won and most smart companies understand this. So changes will happen and some will like and others will not and they are not going to get worried about those that threaten to leave because of it ever. So the fact you let what is said here be your driving force toward the game or against it is just stupid really. You play for your own self and not care what others cry about and just adapt as the changes come for they will always come. The game will not ever stay the same forever no matter how many players think it should. It cannot nor should not ever do so. Coming here and crying about how the community is and because of it that certain changes were made or not made is stupid for it will not change the community ever, they don't care if you are happy and never will nor ever have too. You make do with what you can and adapt or otherwise just ignore everyone here and not take anything said here serious ever. Toward the content it will always change, never believe leaked information ever. If you do and get your hopes up because of it only to be disappointed later when was not what was leaked your own fault at that point. Never pre-buy expansions passes if you try and set expectations based upon them upon future game play only fools do that. For until that content is out they always have the right to change it no matter what. Plus you are not ever buying a set amount of type of content with an expansion pass your are just buying access to the content when it is released. So to set expectations about what the content will have before it is even released is just stupid for it can and may change and no they don't have to care if you don't like it either.
