To those crying about Thorn:
After a huge wave of nerfs a new weapon was discovered to be strong, accurate, reliable, and versatile.
Now everyone is screaming "OMFGWTFBBQ NERF THURNZ OP TOO GUD GET REKT M8".
If you crybaby assholes win and Bungie nerfs the thorn a new weapon will arise out of the scrapped remains of our new nerf guns.
Then everyone will cry for it to get nerfed.
Then a new gun.
Then nerf. New gun. Nerf. New. Nerf.
This kind of bulls#it is why the developers are ruining all of our favorite weapons (not just PVP either... try using Suros in a raid now).
So I ask, I request, I plead, I get on my hands and knees and beg: please stop screaming for a god damn nerf on all the guns! You crybabies are the reason auto rifles died. You are the reason fusion rifles are less accurate than the weather man on the news. And you will be the reason why guardians will cry when our most reliable weapons will soon be ruined.
[spoiler]I don't even use Thorn that often; it's just a point to stop crying about nerfs or eventually everything will be called "op" and nerfed.[/spoiler]
Edit: "Dixie Actually" said it best. Most people complain about it because, if they die / get killed, it's not THEIR fault; clearly the gun is overpowered if it can kill an MLG pro 360 No-scope "top of the leaderboards" kind of guy like the 13-year-old crying on the forums that "Thorn is too op".

I don't use thorn. I kill people with thorn. Problem? Nope, I'm just not garbage and don't have to blame bad play on a gun. Just some fyi, Vex > Thorn Red Death > Thorn TLW > Thorn Three Little Words > Thorn Strangers Rifle > Thorn If you blame thorn then quite simply, you just suck at this game. Id even be willing to bet you people complaining run a shotgun in secondary as well.

I agree. Plus you actually earn it, albeit not too hard for some. But harder for others. On top of when I do hop in pvp, i kill guardians using thorn. Even go toe to toe and still smoke them. Go ahead cry nerf, you're just telling everyone else you're not smart enough to develop tactics to counter thorn.

You Nerf thorn to balance the other weapons and keeping the TTK from being super high.

Crucible was way more fun in the aerly days.....ya suros was over used but it was much easier to counter.

Well I will just throw this out there. The reasoning behind the nerfed auto rifles was because their data showed far greater use of the autos compared to the other weapon types. Well, now you will have data showing hand cannons, specifically thorn and the last word, being the grossly overused weapon type compared to the others. Following that logic, there will most definitely be a nerf to hand cannons. Another weapon type will rise up and be super overused, and the process will repeat. Mostly because bungie looks for quick fixes rather than dealing with the root of the issue, and 70% of this community is whiny, self-entitled, and will scream nerf to anything that hurts their little gamer egoes.

I just hate "damage over time" weapons. Hit it and forget it.... The thorn user is going about his business and my health keeps dropping regardless of what he's doing.

Im with you man i play from day one the only gun that was need neft was vex (not that much)but nvm..bad players cry for every gun that kills them. the AR (my suros..:/) now for thorn or TLW FFS ppl use the same gun and if you are better make more kills.isnt the gun is how good is the player that use it.

6 RepliesThe Thorn in iron banner is like Suros was back in its prime. I was in a game yesterday and at least 9 of the 12 players were using Thorn. Talk about variety. It's gonna catch a nerf sooner or later just like Suros.

Thorn was an absolutely solid weapon but naturally it was buffed 200% for people who wanna play on easy. [/spoiler]
