For either answer, explain why
Edit: nice to see a good discussion for both points of view, keep the conversation going! Bump this so Bungie can have some feed back before releasing the dlc.
Edit2: Also, Answer this: Do you think people will stop playing the ToO once they get all the armor/guns that you can get from it? Or will Bungie add weekly incentives (alike Iron Banner) to keep 'em playing?

Need 2 for trials 315+

NO and here's why •afk player •players with no mic (no communication= no coordination) •trollers • people leaving YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A BAD TIME. Point is, if you want to try to go flawless there's a LFG for that. If you just want to have fun ad casually do bounties, THERES A LFG FOR THAT. matchmaking would just be a big headache. Just look at Vanguard Strikes. It's infested with people that leave and go afk. Matchmaking would be aweful for Trials
-
Even better, make Osiris matchmaking only. No party groups of three. You go in by yourself with two randoms and fight the same.
-
First was like no then was like yes because playing randoms would be so easy
-
Old post but.... Why vote no? If you're good you already have a team you play with. LFG is still an option if you like to build a team and also have some pre-requisites for your teammates you'd like to find. You'd get to those 5-0,6-0,7-0,... rounds faster, where you'd still be facing teams in that same category (very little chance of seeing the match made teams, but if they get there they deserve it). If you're not good or just intimidated, you'd be able to hop in quickly if you just want to grind bounties or possibly make some friends. It would obviously be a nightmare of no-mics and poor communication, but if you're willing to do that than more power too you. The only people against it are probably those people afraid of losing their "special snowflake" status. They obviously know (or should know) those matchmade teams would hardly see the lighthouse, but they're afraid a slightly lesser team than them just *might* make it there. How utterly freaking pathetic is that? They're probably the same people that post about being proud to continue on past 9-0 just to keep people out. Bungie is obviously trying to get more people playing by implementing the bounty system, matchmaking would only facilitate that and bring more people in.

There's many things that I feel myself and the majority of the community wants, but will never get...
-
Optional matchmaking. /topic
-
Its funny when players say no. You dont have to participate if you dont want to
-
It wouldn't matter if there was matchmaking or not, you would lose every time to a full fireteam, it would just be easier for the good players to make it to lighthouse
-
People voting against other people having a choice. Why am I not surprised?
-
A better solution is some kind of in game kiosk for forming fireteams. That would cover all the bases for any activity.
-
This post is old news people... Look at the date I originally made it... Let it go!
-
I don't see why it would be a problem if there was optional matchmaking. Good teams will still pair up and make it very competitive. Scrubs and casuals will jump in to have fun and complete their bounties. You would have to be a true scrub master to be opposed to optional matchmaking which would just save casual players some time.
-
It'll be easier to go flawless
-
Matchmaking of any kind for players will only make my flawless run easier. You're matched up with -Bad teammates -Kids go AFK -No mics=no call outs -a loss against a team of 3 who actually know each other an their teams play styles An probably some more stuff I'm missing
-
Yeah can't wait to have randoms who don't talk, AFK, and are underleveled.

Edited by copland23-gilas: 11/11/2015 12:33:17 AMYes no fireteam, all random 6 players
-
Yes, the fact that it would mix both good and bad players, is a good thing, if but frustrating for the elite. I would hate though if people were just lazy buggers, only wanting a carry. In that case, both players could then agree to boot the other. I'm not against the idea. I get along well with most peeps.

I have a solution to all LFG issues. Each social space (i.e. the tower) should have a room where Guardians can go who are looking to raid, do trials, or any group activity. There can be a ToO section, CE, VoG and KF sections to help organize everyone. This space allows plays to inspect each other, which is more reliable then LFG posts. Any thoughts on this?
-
I said yes. Finding people on forums takes a lot of time
-
I just want there to be settings. Because if I get matched with people without a headset.... That's gonna suck. And I feel like there won't be half as many people LFG if there is matchmaking ... So will I have a hard time finding a group that does have a headset then?? I still voted yes...
-
This game NEEDS optional matchmaking for every activity really no excuse to not have it....besides laziness
-
The way the bounty system is, why not. It's only bad for people who wanna visit the lighthouse really
-
Definitely. This way organised and communicate and pre made teams can more quickly get to the lighthouse. Cause thats all I'm seeing if the matchmaking gets implemented. Sure it can be good if you're not too serious about the lighthouse but its just pretty much going to be a massacre( for the match made ones)
-
By the time you have everything with decent roles, the next DLC will be here
-
I already do match making by the way of lfg. Always with randoms, none of my friends like pvp. So match making would help people like myself out. Instead of having to go to lfg, to end up in a random group anyway.
