So I'm seeing hundreds of handcannon nerf posts so I'm starting to get worried they will be nerfed despite me not wanting it to happen so this a thread to make sure it's reasonable.
This is the only change that should happen. Since handcannons in theory are high risk high reward with technique we need to foster the technique part. Messing with impact or damage now would only unbalance the game again so this is my proposal to bungie.
1)rebuff autorifles.
This change only. You went change crazy with the last nerf and now they are pointless.
Only after some time to see how that changes crucible should further changes be made
2) nerf only aim assist for only te exotic handcannons. This is different from auto aim which brings your reticle to a person when you aim, it's the tat that tracks people. Handcannons have some of the highest in the game and the legendaries need it but not the exotics. This would bring them in line making them more difficult to be accurate.
Thorn is fine it just takes a different strategy to counter with cover. Hawkmoon doesn't have the lucky one shot enough to be a problem, a last word only needs its perk glitch fixed for the hip fire.
Please support this to make sure handcannons are responsibly handled if nerfed at all.

For me, the problem with hand canons is that they are probably the only primary that really punishes on-rushing shotgun users when you see them early. Other primaries are far far less consistent in being able to reward your awareness. So that goes back to the time-to-kill arguments.

Or we can nerf nothing.

They already nerfed aim assist for handcannons (called it "initial accuracy") and it shows with Hawkmoon. Thorn can spec it back with Perfect Balance. I can see fixing Last Word's extra bonus when ADS.

Anyone else?
