Alternate VoG

The TL;DR is just a bit lower down. Just thought I would chuck out some ideas for what I would view as an alternate VoG raid. By no means am I saying this should be the raid, I'm just saying if I had the developing power, this is what I personally would change it to. Btw, doors, lots of doors, it's a vault ain't it? TL;DR: Add sparrow challenge, change up some doors, Templar becomes shield junkie, Atheon develops anger issues. I give credit to Selenophobia for reminding me to chuck one of these in. CRITICIZE THIS ALREADY! Side note: All hard mode changes will be given like (sample text). --------------------------------------------------- Stage one: Guardians spawn outside the main door to the vault of glass, two panels, one left and one to the right, must be held for three rounds. Each round will consist of three waves. Losing a plate spawns a cyclops on it. Round 1 will be simple, say ten goblins and a praetorian per plate for all three waves, simple. --------------------------------------------------- Round 2 will step it's game up. Wave 1: Five goblins, three hobgoblins spawn away from the plate for maximum snipe, two minotaurs, with a praetorian on a spawn delay. (No delay on praetorian spawn) Wave 2: Praetorian spawns first, followed by nine hobgoblins, yes, I mean nine snipers aiming at you. (On hard mode this is insane, so let's say four hobgoblins spawn). Wave 3: Exhausted, just a praetorian and a handful of goblins charge the plates. (Let's chuck some minotaurs at you). --------------------------------------------------- Round 3 is where you feel the burn if you haven't already. Wave 1: A warm up, consecutive goblin spawns with a praetorian. Wave 2: Two minotaurs backed up with a Hydra, Pretorians don't come cheap, so is on a spawn delay. (Time work around, praetorian spawns anyways). Wave 3: Three hydras assault the plate with goblin and hobgoblin back up. Later in the wave two Pretorians backing a praetorian. --------------------------------------------------- You'r not done yet! You no longer need to worry about the plates (you need to worry about plates, periodic praetorian spawns). Remember the gate lord? Let's throw a serious one at you. Fight is straightforward with reinforcement spawns consisting of some goblins, harpies, hobgoblins, and every other, spawn a Minotaur. Loot time! --------------------------------------------------- Now you have the vault open, so have you ever wished to have a sparrow race through dangerous jumps with a side of DoT fanatics? If not to bad, if yes, it's your lucky day! Fanatics don't have guns, just explode easily dropping a DoT pile on the ground. Figured insert some sick jumps here and their with electricity flying around between the segments, low light, and a lot of booger pools. (Because if I was a developer, I let loose Cyclopes on you just because). --------------------------------------------------- You're somehow alive! Great job! (You have my respect, +4 to loot drops). Now where the dinklebot really shines! Another door, but wait, there's more! He can open this one! But there's a catch, if you don't have a player supplying light to the dinklebot in the center of a large room, no progress on door for you! Now for some waves, as if you aren't sick of them already, am I right? Hold back hordes of teleporting fanatics along side your typical vex mix. For player in the center, hope you have a ward of dawn or can go invisi, cuse you about to become swiss cheese. For everyone else their are pillars for cover. After seven rounds of pure horde, the Templar figures that you aren't dying anytime soon, and spawns. With the sudden spike of darkness, the aegis spawns. Instead of oracles being glowing yellow cubes, they are harpies, that teleport when you look at them, yep you heard me. Plus they charge his shield. Stupid fragile though, plus they only spawn back after the Templar has taken a set amount of damage. The aegis can be used as an AoE weapon to help eliminate oracles. (In this mode, oracles don't stop spawning unless you hit the Templar with the shield, in which case they are put on a 30? second spawn delay, don't know what the pace would be like, so spawn delay is an iffy.) After slaying this brute, congrats! Dinklebot also managed to grab you a loot chest in the process! Loot all the chest! --------------------------------------------------- After venturing further into the vault, I present to you an actual maze! Inside you will find gorgons searching hungrily for you, luckily, if one of you are spotted, don't freak out, you aren't all wiped (The darkness is so strong here that it's draining your health, have a fun time)! You find some loot dropped by the previous gaur foams to raid the vault. Free, kinda blood splattered loot! --------------------------------------------------- Now you've gone and done it. You ticked off the big man. You find Atheon in a massive room filled with giant generators powering the VoG. In response to the extreme darkness, the Aegis spawns, good, that's how you will stay alive. Atheon fires twin howitzers of pure awesomeness at you while you disable a generator. In response, Atheon will try to freeze you in time, standing inside the bubble generated by the Aegis cancels the freeze. The attempt to do so weakens Atheon, making him able to take increased damage. Fun catch, the more teammates that are frozen, also increase damage dealt to Atheon and how long he stays frozen himself, also the more teammates frozen also decreases the time for everyone else frozen, I'm to nice right? Wrong. The generators fuel Atheon's shield and are always trying to be repaired by goblins. Don't worry though, the generators are weak and crack easily, downside for not upgrading to the newest model. After beating Atheon, loot! If your in hard mode, this is to similar to the easy am I right? Wrongo! Extra boss stage! Atheon is now REALLY pissed, and starts shredding time in the vault. What I mean by this is that you gain random nerfs and buffs, along side randomly teleporting fanatics and a enraged Atheon, straightforward battle. LOOT THE LOOT. You beat my VoG! Great! I'm open for ideas and if this post gets enough chat and likes, I'll make a complete from scratch what Crota's raid should be! Keep it civil! Little side note: done via mobile app, so sorry if it shows weird on computers, etc.
