I believe that bungie needs to go back on the critical hit ratio nerf they had done awhile back... Ever since they had lowered that with auto rifles, things went downhill fast... It would encourage people to aim for head shots again. Hard light, for example these days does 16 to the body and 19 to the head with its beginning ballistics ( I use aggressive ballistics which bumps it up in impact alil). Otherwise, with the headshot multiplier restored it may go back up 2-3 points of damage and becoming at least alil more sustainable... For example, why use a low damage auto rifle when you can use the (full auto) pulse rifle Oversoul Edict that shoots so fast that it feels like an auto rifle but has a much better damage output thanks to its buff to pulse rifles? I love my Bad juju, I was using it for two months prior to the pulse rifle buff even being mentioned... And when the update hit I had two fully upgraded BJ's (ha!) and people were barely pulling out their dusty ones out of their vaults to replicate the ownage I had done to them... Bungie didn't balance anything by lowering Auto rifles again... They simply swapped the problem... I can honestly say that Auto rifles could possibly go back to their original performance from game release now with little hate, due to the other primaries being buffed over time. Auto rifles deserve a buff and need to be removed from the table as a potential target for follow up nerfs. After that, Bungie just needs to leave them the -blam!- alone... Thank you for reading, and please leave a comment for me to reply to on your thoughts. :)
Edit #1: As Bungie had stated in the news wire they had a bunch of revamping and weapon balancing amongst other things to take care of up to the release of the Taken King DLC, which if I might add, looks very promising. Hopefully Bungie will keep to their word and balance out the weapons over time until the Taken King DLC comes out (hopefully including an Auto rifle buff somewhere down the road). I hope that everyone that is in support of this post will continue to bump and support it until the buff to auto rifles is done. We can almost be sure that the balancing update they've spoken of will involve an Auto rifle buff. So please everyone, if you agree with this post, vote accordingly and leave a comment. We're so close to getting what we want and what auto rifles deserve... Thank you. :)
Edit #2: We have finally been heard by Bungie! Thanks to everyone for your support and I hope that you look for my name when on the Feedback forum again once we finally get the balances applied for any other concerns!!! And again, thank you ALL!!! :)

auto rifles definitely need more power

To everyone that has supported this post! With the most recent news, Bungie has finally acknowledged that they are going to work on Weapon rebalancing toward the release of The Taken King. So hopefully in the next few months we will see Auto rifles improved and possibly even some of the underwhelming Exotics buffed and the overwhelming Exotics nerfed!!! Finally we have some shed of light on our cause to have our Auto rifles back with better performance!!! :D

I agree with back to starting stats because honestly the one thing it hits is the crucible everyone just uses hand cannons and the only feared primaries now are thorn and the last word and occasionally mida multi then the mthoclast but that's because it's a fusion rifle so therefore unaffected I haven't seen a suros or hard light once in any crucible match since this nerf and only and handful of times do I see auto rifles in patrols and occasionally tower and I've been hunting for that dang crux but now everyone's telling me necrochasm is garbage I don't want to have to vault the one gun I've wanted since the trailers for the Croat expansion.

Bump Updates gotta be sweet before TTK comes out. ;0

Bump again
-
I got a new HoW auto rifle earlier with concentrated fire and extra stability. Promptly got dismantled. No vault space, and autos suck bad
-
Auto rifles are supposed to be mid/close range weapons something similar to SMGs from what I understand. So unnerfing range would just make the game unbalanced again. That being said some AR should have the lowest TTK of all classes with the worse accuracy to balance it

Because you're Dreadful Dre and your skill with Bad Juju is legendary, I present to you a forum gift...
BUMP!!!

When you opened the above spoiler, was it equal to the excitement you feel when Variks drops the scorch cannon instead of heavy ammo?
Maybe lower the range a little, but otherwise, back to release.

I totally get the frustration with this but, at the same time I also feel that they should not be what they were when the game was released. Here is why, when the game was released auto rifles could snipe me across the map, they could hit so hard from mid range that once I got hit that was pretty much it. 1. Scouts are mid to long range and should hit hard but not super fast. - autorifles were doing damage at their range. 2. Some autorifles were hitting like sniper rifles (coughvexcough). They are not long range weapons. 3. Autorifles are short to mid range weapons that do their best I feel just at the edge of close range. They can't snipe and they don't hit as hard as a scout. So that being said as they are autorifles are lousy right now. If they fire fast they don't fire hard enough. If they hit hard enough they aren't firing fast enough (Suros). So I say increase the damage output but not what it was at release because as much fun as it was to literally massacre an entire team by yourself, it wasn't fun on the receiving end when there was nothing you could do. And I really feel this in relation to PVE especially. It shouldn't take me an entire clip to kill a cabal while doing critical damage, it's just stupid.

Bump!
