Crux of Crota (Token System)

Yes: I'd like to see this type of system.

No: This would ruin the RNG drop system.

Before you think that this is just another complaint thread, I'd like to propose a solution to a problem. Please read before answering the poll. I have done Crota's End (Hard Mode) about a dozen times now, across all 3 characters. I have an upgraded Necrochasm and now 3 additional Cruxes sitting in my inventory. 2 of which, I've gotten this week. These Cruxes do not stack, and you can only store 1 in your vault. They can't be broken down into anything, or discarded for glimmer. They are just... there. What if... and this may seem like a stretch... but what if we could exchange them with Xur or Eris, like a form of currency, for items from the raid?! For example, make a tiered system that would allow you to save up Cruxes and exchange them when you had enough saved up for an item you want. (Open to suggestions on the tiers) Tier 1: 1 Crux = Any legendary armor (random stat roll) from the CE raid. Tier 2: 2 Cruxes = Any legendary weapon from the CE raid. Tier 3: 3 Cruxes = Any exotic armor (random stat roll). Tier 4: 4 Cruxes = Any exotic weapon. This would give people something to work for, when mindlessly running the raid 3 times a week, waiting for that 1 thing to drop. I know that I am missing a few things still, and would love to replace that Crux for a Black Hammer or 2. Maybe even the beloved Gjallarhorn. What do you guys think? If you could store multiple cruxes, would you? Would you like to trade them in for that 1 thing that you've always been wanting but either Xur hasn't sold it when you were around or it just won't *&#^$& drop? *EDIT 1* Minor formatting and added tags. *EDIT 2* Title update.

  • System you're describing is known as a "token system" it exists in many MMOs but Destiny thrives off of the fact certain loot will no drop, therefore making this something they most likely won't happen
