I'm just curious on community opinion. I don't have a lot of time to play with work and college, but I finally decided to get into raids. From my hunting for raid groups I feel like no one wants to do it unless you have 100+ completions under your belt. Hoping the community will prove me wrong.
Edit: I'd like to thank all the experienced players who have helped the raid noons/virgins(including myself) through raids from finding them here

Raiding is the most fun when done with someone who hasn't done it before. It's even better when you're with a whole team who hasn't done it. You get to watch them learn and figure out the puzzles. You get to see how excited they are when they figure it out. Just as we once did way back in September, they will thoroughly enjoy the experience, without much care towards the loot. When they finally take down Atheon on the 10th time, it will truly feel worth all the effort. Me being there would just be to help push them along and keep them from being too stuck. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Just playing for the grind is boring. Taking your time and having fun is the way to enjoy this game.

I do it all the time. I'm not quite good enough that I can sherpa 3+ of them through, though (nor do I think I could find that many raid virgins at once... I did have two once but they were both friends).
-
If they actually listen then yes. If they make the same repeated mistakes after I constantly tell them not to do that then eventually I'll get frustrated.
-
Did it last night
-
Everyone says they would help but then if u post on the forums as a 27 looking for Nf no one would add lol.
-
We all were raid virgins at one point, so I don't mind helping others experience the raid. They have to start somewhere and if I have the time I don't mind helping. Plus it's always a blast to hear the different reactions at the various points in the raid. It brings back memories of my first raids. So if anyone needs help on either system feel free to add me. My gamertag on both the 4 and the One is the same as my user name.

I posted in the forums that me and a friend were helping low level's/new raid people through crota's end normal & a guy replied asking if we could help him take his son through the raid as his son hadn't done a raid before.. Long story short raid completed 1st time & it felt good.

I helped a raid noob last night if your on ps4 add me, stoner0401, i dont mind helping
-
Just be up front and tell people it's your first time rather than not saying anything and winging it

Edited by ruben7811: 4/25/2015 12:26:52 PMI've done it all the time and when someone complains I always tell them someone had to carry your dumbass and mine so deal with it or leave

Just last night did a three man Crota run with someone who'd never done it before. Got rocky in some places, but that's how my clan rolls. LEGI0N baby. But seriously, this clan's desire to make every member good is the reason I can run raids as well as I can.

Edited by Scubamedic: 4/21/2015 1:26:34 AMNewer clan excepting people that want to raid and are still learning. No pressure environment. All adults with lives and families. "Descendant of the Abyss" on Xbox One if interested.
-
I used to run people through. Until it became a habit and the thank yous went out the window. You don't have manners? I don't know how to raid.
-
Try take a random day, it's like taking your kid to work but instead you check randoms in the Tower then pick one to drag them through a raid.
-
lol how are you supposed to git gud if no one is willing to help?
-
I love taking noobs through raids. I can teach them MY way. I give FULL tutorials. I taught a group of noobs how to do Crota this week. Including sword tutorials and everything. I always teach multiple strategies and let them decide which one we use. It's much much more interesting with new raiders. Especially letting them decide the fate of the team. Everyone should try it every now and then.
-
If they will listen and are at least trying it's actually fun to sherpa
-
Yes but the whole crew must tea bag
-
Depends on the raid virgin

I have helped train some people in all things Destiny. Met them on other games and after finding out they were getting Destiny helped them from the first missions all the way to hard Crota. Any of them can now lead their own raid teams flawlessly. (assuming the fireteam members know how to listen.)
-
I helped almost an entire fire team of raid virgins do crota this week. It didn't take many tries. They did their research (: we never finished crota but they got thru the first few parts without wiping once. I was impressed.
-
I will if they can listen and follow what I'm telling them. No thick skulled idiots

Edited by TheHunger82: 4/21/2015 8:10:06 AMTook some youngsters through vog normal last night. Their excitement when we managed to raise the spire was so pure. They had tried many times before and hadn't managed to raise it due to a mix of lowish levels and not ideal weapons but the emotion they showed by just beating that part was fuel enough for me to take them through it all. Most listened well. Some fart-assed around a bit but they're young so thats expected I suppose. All in all it was good fun and I felt a real sense of achievement in getting them through it. None of them got any decent loot though which was a bummer.

Helped some people yesterday get through VoG hard. There were a few random players who had done it before and didn't really communicate and wanted to take lead. Which lead to multiple wipes. As soon as I put myself forward as leader I got is through, same with the Gorgon maze, one guy wants to just lead and leave everyone behind. But the newer players actually listened and followed me. They're nice because they're willing no learn and speak to you

I would take any virgin. Purely consensual of course.

Edited by Rilech: 4/21/2015 7:49:48 AMIf all girls followed the same logic this species would not exist. We are all virgins at some point. Somebody helped you pop your cherry. Pay it forward.
