Reason for lack of split-screen?

I know this is a dead beat topic and I still don't know why Bungie didn't respond to this request. To be honest it died a little bit after a while, probably since a lot of people just quit Destiny. The lack of local co-op became painfully apparent when a buddy of mine was at my place. It would be fun to play together, but alas he played story mode and lost interest the moment random team members abandoned his party.

  • Likely to push more sales. If you have a friend you'd really like to play the game with. With Split screen you'd just invite your friend over and he'd play for free. Without, he has to buy the game. There may be honest, technical reasons. But I wouldn't be surprised if profits was one of the big reasons.

Bungie probably thinks well looking at other games with the option to split screen and this is true. Majority of split screeners for example, Call of Duty they tend to drag the team down and do real poorly so having it in the crucible would be bad especially for iron banner but I don't pvp. In Pve and raids that would be hell. That's just my opinion though, long story short bungie thinks split screeners are just anchors

  • I don't know the exact reasons behind it, but games don't do split screen anymore because they have to sacrifice a lot of the graphics to make it work. Like I said, idk enough about code or developing or understand it, but I know that games now are too advanced and split screen wouldn't allow the game to function properly.

This feature shouldn't be that hard to build, if you make it current-gen only. Is it because Bungie wants to maintain code parity with last-gen consoles? It is now known that Destiny is a bit held back because of it (vault space, map space, graphic details). Don't give me the crappy reason because the game designers want to "untether guardians". Current-gen consoles should have plenty of power to handle travel space constraints, or Bungie could implement a system to handle the overhead. Be it with invisible walls (they are present anyways) or less graphic detail.
