So I am very much enjoying the Crucible's new focus on primary weapons. I feel that the reduced availability of special ammo has been a massive step forward. There is room for counter play now, but I do have two issues.
One: the auto rifles HAVE to be revived. They have been nerfed so heavily that there are only two mid-range weapons that remain competitive, and they are both hand cannons. I don't need to tell anyone which two these are because they are EVERYWHERE.
Seriously, if you don't know which two, then you haven't been playing recently.
Before, there were other weapons that could work really well, and there are still other weapons present in the Crucible (Red Death, Mida, Bad Juju), but the two exotic hand cannons are the only solid mid-range choices left.
You must MUST MUST give auto rifles a buff! The maps are largely close to mid range fighting, and you have shifted the focus to primary weapons. However, the primary weapons that specialize in close to mid range fighting have been nerfed to extinction.
Nothing has to be nerfed, you just have to make the ARs a viable option again.
My second issue is with the new approach to heavy ammo. Now, the whole WORLD turns to explosions for two minutes after the heavy ammo spawns, because you have left the community only two choices: All or Nothing.
This feast or famine mentality means that of course everyone chooses the first option, the whole step forward with the primaries goes out the window, and the entire Crucible turns into a Gjallarhorn fest.
