Tips for PvP

Edit: If you found this helpful in anyway, please slap a like on it. Let's try and keep this around so the new generation of players can be helped as well Alright people, PSN has been down for awhile, and I started hanging out here semi trolling and semi making nice posts. This is a post to help out players who seem to be having issues in the Crucible. Now some of these tips are all purpose FPS tips, some most of you know, some few may know. Basically if you don't learn anything, don't flame me, add to what we have and we can help those that struggle. First things first, we are going to talk about tactics. 1. Always stick near cover, and if you think you are entering hostile terrain, don't just run in. Assess the situation, if the red is straight ahead of the door, try moving left or right, and see where the radar turns, this helps identify where your opponent may be. 2. Don't spam your grenades, they are used as a lead in, and are useless if you choose to just throw them around willy nilly. 3. Stick with your teammates, but not on top of them. This is a huge issue in PvP, when three or four people crowd into a hallway, you are begging to be supered. It's always best that you never move up past the halfway point alone, because you will either be out numbered, or force a spawn behind your unsuspecting teammates. 4. BE A GOOD TEAMMATE I hate to use caps but this point cannot be stressed enough. When heavy drops, check your radar and look around, if you see red grab it, if you don't and teammates are coming to you, wait for them. 4b. Try to use your supers as often as possible, and around as many teammates as possible. This will help chain the orbs together, it is better to drop 1 orb the whole team can get, than make four only one person can obtain. 5. Don't be a sheep, if you see two people jump Into a room or go to an area and die, look in the bottom left, see how they died, assess the situation. Don't just jump right in hoping that the shields are weakened and you'll win the day. 6. It's obvious a lot of people enjoy using shotguns, but you don't need one to do good. Shotguns work at the moment because most people blindly sprint around and try to grab kills without thinking about death or losing. While more experienced and skilled ( some of you don't call it that, but it's smarter than not using it ) players slide and blink. This can be easily adjusted to by simply following the other tips. Sure one guy may slide in and kill you or a teammate but if you work together two or three people should kill one before they get any points. 7. Don't follow the trends, set them. What I mean by this is simple, right now most of the crucible is hunters and shotguns, I have had my most success lately as a blind bubble, suppressing grenade Titan. The reason for this is, I can't get arc bladed in my bubble, and my suppressor grenades take hunters out of arc blade and golden gun. Sure GG can shoot down my shield, but you gotta pick your battles. 8. Pick your battles, if you get shot and don't know where from, or your taking fire before you can return it, get to cover. Drop back to teammates, don't charge at them or turn and shoot. If your shield is hit already, they have the advantage. Their is no shame in avoiding death via retreating. 9. Identify the guns that feel good to you, and use them. Don't force feed yourself a gun you don't feel confident with, you'll never win. If you want to try something new, run a strike or two with it, find the perks and scopes you like, then take her into the crucible. 10. This will be the last but certainly not least. Don't let yourself get frustrated, it's easy to get annoyed when you get shoulder charged or arc bladed, or when that warlock just resurrects and sticks you with a grenade. It is all a part of the game, and no amount of calling out people and getting mad will help you get better. Learn from them, whether to do it yourself or to counter it in the future. And one last tip to help people out, slow the game down for yourself if you are having a bad game. If you start 0-6 recklessly running around won't help you, don't agro charge the area you just died at, learn from the mistake and give your team a chance to win one. You don't have to always be the deciding factor, when you get stuck in quicksand fighting to hard will only make it worse. Weapons, class, and armor 1. Titan, hunter, or warlock? The answer, it doesn't matter. People find the hunter OP, hunters find titans OP, warlocks hate everyone. The simple reason for this is why you die, and what you can't do. 2. Unless IB is up your armor doesn't matter, so find pieces blue, purple, or exotic that play to your strengths. If you like grenades and shotguns, stock discipline and find a chest that gives you more shotgun ammo. If you like having more fusion ammo and super, again find gear with intellect and fusion ammo. 3. Again unless IB is up attack doesn't matter, so look carefully at the stats some of your blues have, they can almost certainly be better than certain legendaries. 4. Every weapon classes stats are only based on that class, I.E. The Last Word has terrible "range" but you can't compare it with shotguns or auto rifles because I can still do maximum damage from fifty yards, but not nearly as far as a hawkmoon. Where as some auto rifles have a shorter DPB drop of while showing a longer range than the hawkmoon. 5. Impact isn't the end all be all, you must think about sustainable damage. A preadyths revenge will give you a one shot precision kill and a faster follow up shot than a black hammer or ice breaker. Or the new sword breaker shotgun has almost half the impact of a found verdict, but it still gives a one shot kill from on top of someone, with a much faster fire rate. 6. Bring loads of weapons when you go into the crucible. Be ready for anything, if the other team camps deep and snipes, and all you have is an auto rifle and shotgun, your SOL. 7. The same can be said for armor, if your a bubble Titan and no one walks into your shield on a consistent basis, their is no point in blinding them, so why not carry more grenades and ammo with an armentarium? 8. Learn your grenades, and all of your skills for that matter. I.E. Titans lightning grenades should be stuck to walls, not floors. Where as AoE warlock grenades should be use on the ground and not walls, more as a defensive purpose to keep a walkway covered momentarily so you can escape or help out elsewhere. 9. This is my last armor and weapons tip, your level doesn't matter if IB isn't up, use that advantage to find gear to help your build. I hope these tips help out the newer generation or anyone else that bothered to read any of this. I hope everyone is able to get on and play soon. Edited to add weapon/armor tips, and fix some typing errors.
