Be honest - do you immediately judge other players based on their grimoire score?
Just curious as to how many other people do this . . . obviously it's not an indicator of talent or anything but I do momentarily feel better than someone with a lower grimoire score than me in strikes, crucible, etc. Then I die multiple times and all that cockiness goes away :p

Its a good tool to use to work out of people are using alts or not

Grimoire == time spent, nothing more. The only thing I use Grimoire for is so I can tell if a "5" is really new or just someone's alt.

I only judge them if they are a warlock or a hunter

K/D is different than grimoire. Grimoire score can be high because you have no life and waste your time finding dead ghosts etc

I do because I can gauge who long they've been playing and whether or not they'll have an understanding of what to do.

I will do it on Raids and sometimes think that I'll pair up with that player just in case they haven't had many raids done, maybe even less than 5 or so. This way we as a team can help make sure it goes smoothly. Particularly Crotas end because the margin for error is very small. However outside of Raids I never really look at the score because some players are simple and efficient, give them an auto rifle and some decent gear and they are ready to rock.

Mine is about 2300 and i always get the most kills in strikes. So i get the worst rewards too

I judge them insofar as i know that a high grimoire score likely means they have run Vault of Glass before. I won't kick them for not having run it, just lets me know if i have to teach or if i can sit back and play. Hell i did the weekly yesterday with a guy whose grimoire was at 1500, i don't think he knew the Aksor strike, and thus his grimoire reflected his knowledge of the game.

It happens subconsciously. Like yesterday I joined a VoG hard Lfg group and saw all had 1800-2100 grimoire. I thought: wipe fest. 30 minutes, 5 wipes on confluxes and 3 quitters (without saying something the entire time) I left:p

It's not the be all and end all but it should inform you how much of Destiny that player has experienced and/or succeeded at.

I really never check I put down requirements for any group etc... And trust ppl to meet them. If we are doing an activity and they have been dishonest about not meeting some requirement then I block them simple as that. I trust until prove untrustworthy.
