So, I had a baby. :)
Yesterday afternoon, at 5:29. My daughter entered this world. Weighing only 1 lb 9 oz. She is 28 weeks and 5 days gestational age.
We went in to the hospital at noon yesterday, fearing the worst. Preparing for whatever may come. For the weeks leading to her birth, we knew it was going to be a long and bumpy road. At 20 weeks, the doctor had found that she had multiple heart defects, which included problems with the aortic valve, and the heart took up most of her chest cavity. She also wasn't getting her nutrients, which is why we had to deliver her early.
She is now in the NICU and will be for a few months. My little light is doing fantastic and now breathing on her own. If you could; send prayers, good thoughts, and positive vibes her way.
She is the most beautiful little thing to ever come into my life.

1 ReplyHope all goes well. My cousin was premature too. 1lb 14oz. I think she was born around 28 weeks as well. She has a slight speech impediment now and some motor skill issues but other than that completely normal. Normal 22 year old that talks on the phone and plays on her iPad all day :)
