Fellow guardians. It has come to my attention that there is a problem, not a SIGNIFICANT problem, or one that you might even notice, but a problem for some gamers that could be easily fixed.
Faction Rewards.
I bring this up because I'm rank 48 with Dead Orbit and have not much to show for it. Specifically ZERO shaders, and I know I'm not the only one with this issue.
The solution? Expand faction inventory. Make everything they have for sale. Ships, shaders, hidden weapons, maybe weapon rerolls.
BUT
let's do something else with that new inventory. Remember how you had to get to rank 2 to purchase armor and rank 3 for weapons? Keep that system in place. Something like rank 10 for hidden weapons. Rank 50 for shaders. Rank 100 for the ship.
This solution keeps intact the way bungie wants you to earn your gear and you can still have the satisfaction or showing off hard earned loot.
Basically we need an alternative when RNG makes it hurt. So let's BUMP this so DeeJ can recommend it to the devs for the next update!

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with this.
-
I don't know if I'd go so far as to 50 for shaders, but I do agree that you should be able to buy shaders, ships etc. Weapon re-rolls as you said would also be amazing.

LOL! Rank 50 and rank 100 for anything... out of your mind. Im rank like 38 with cryptarch and thats just turning in engrams, plus I've been playing since launch. You have to be literally OUT OF YOUR MIND to repetitively level a faction or anything in this game past like, 25, seeing as ranking up most often yields an ascendant energy. 1 ascendant energy. But no yeah, totally gonna persuade myself to keep trying to rank up a faction so I can get a little cosmetic item that changes my colour. Whatever keeps you in the hamster wheel, I guess..

Edited by Lull9: 4/19/2015 2:01:52 AMSorry you can't play pretty pretty princess with different colors for your dresses... whoops... armor. Pretty silly thing to get your panties in a knot over.
I got Bittersteel at around rank 10... and don't even wear it! Hah!
Edited by TheFrozenInferno: 4/19/2015 1:53:37 AMI've had great luck with New Monarchy shaders. Themisto at Rank 14, and Amalthea at Rank 18. I'd kill to have the ship though, those seem like the rarest of all faction items. However some things in this game have to remain rare. Faction ships and shaders are unique and it's better not to see everybody with them. That's what the guardian outfitter and generic shaders are for. However I would like to see a reforging system with all vendors. Turn in a commendation and some motes/glimmer to reroll a vendor weapon with only that vendor, and only if you are a high enough rank to buy the weapons.
-
I think we should also sell winning lottery tickets. I'm tired of seeing other people win.
-
...bump...
-
If anything, they should have a set level to unlock things. Maybe not purchased or anything, just unlocked. And I seen couple haters in the chat so to you guys, STFU

-
oh look! another whiny bitch
-
Rng hurts like a bitch
-
I still think faction shader/weapon drops should increase by 5% at rank 20 and by another .5% every 5 ranks
-
Just shut up. It is a great thing that faction rewards are so rare otjerwise all of the nobodys would be running around with them.
-
Edited by chaoticfew: 4/18/2015 12:19:50 AMI just think they should take ascendant materials off the loot table my last 3 packages have been only materials I don't mind grinding to get the shaders they are worth it, but blaming ascendant materials are just way too disappointing
-
The entire game is built around the RNG system. It is precisely why all of us here on the forums are so addicted to this game. That and we all have OCD. If they take away too much RNG, it breaks the game.
-
I think they should either reduce the amount of exp needed to level up factions or boost rep exp from bounties. That way they are still rare but you get a few more cracks at them per week.
-
50 for a shader?? Wtf? 100??? Too high.
-
Edited by Harbinger113: 4/18/2015 12:09:48 AMNo, the only reason people go for them is due to their rarity, if they can be purchased they're just commons trash. Remember when thunder devil was rare? And now barely anyone uses it, because it's common. They should never be for sale.

I don't care how I get it, but I need Revenant. /:

-
Nah -blam!- that. Rank 100!! That's way too high!! Keep it random like everything else in this damn game!
-
BUMP also you shpuld post this in feedback too
-
Im not down with that. Grind like every one else and get lucky. Good luck my friend.

There is a minor detail you're missing here. Why would they hurt casual gamers, their clear target audience? As a casual gamer since release, I don't have any faction even at 10 yet, I play for fun not to have another job.
